Superb in every way. Dishes are expertly crafted, not overly complex with balanced flavor and texture. Service is finely tuned. Desserts are sublime and abundant. Michelin awards 2 stars however has many aspects of 3 stars. Expect 3+ hours for an enjoyable pace.

Absolutely fantastic food and everything was in order from the time we arrived until we left.

An exceptional warm service on a cold winter night from the kitchen welcoming us, to being guided through the fantastic menu, up until when we left. Classic French cuisine with a touch of Asian inspiration that lifted the experience one step further.

Det er ikke for sjov at Kong Hans Kælder har 2 michelin stjerner. Det kunne man bestemt mærke fra man trådte ind af døren til man gik igen. Maden var uovertruffen og det samme var service.

Classic French....does one need to say more? This restaurant is housed in a space built in 1413. It is a marvelous space, with the domed ceilings painted white. The service was impeccable, and the food absolutely scrumptious. I will just highlight a few of the many courses. There was a sublime goose liver mousse with apricot and marjoram in a tart shell. There were scallops in a champagne sauce topped with caviar, turbot and Danish lobster, an unbelievable quail breast, cut at table side, and a roasted stag filet topped with a reduced sauce with blackberry. This food is sensational. They have a fantastic cheese trolley, which we could not resist. Probably the most phenomenal part is the petit four trolley. I thought I had died and gone to dessert heaven!! Madelines - perfection. Macarons- yum. Poached pear cooked at table side with caramel sauce. I could go on... But I think you get the idea This restaurant is magnifique!! It is below street level at Vingardstraesse 6. Needless to say, reservations are a must. They have three levels of wine pairing, or you can get wines by the glass if you prefer.

There is a reason this is one of the Copenhagen flagships in gastronomy for decades. The recption is warm...all chefs in the kitchen called out a greeting and the front staff know your are comming Proper well starched table cloth and napkins is a strong indicator that this is a place that does classic old school service and yet they are still down to earth and friendly. It is wonderful to see the classic waiter virtues are upheld. When napkins are replaced a new one is delivered carried with cutlery. And there is flambé as a choice for dessert an other chance for the waiter to show their skill. Food is all the way French. From the frogs legs appetiser to the macaroons on the dessert trolley. All servings extremely well executed. Menu changes every month so no need to go through that as it will be different when you go yourself. Just know you can count on it to be sharp, tasty and beautiful. The dessert trolley was a hit and I loved they was doing pineapple flambé...I haven't had that for ages, as a supplement to all the little sweet things. A strong wine list also by the glass and there eis of course also a wine paring. A wonderful evening and the only finger I can put on any thing is the lady from the front desk helped with a few servings with out tying her hair up. Not a big deal just strange since everything else was so sharp and by the book classic high end hospitality.
