The Lagkagehuset bakery in Copenhagen is a true point of reference for those who want to discover the art of Danish pastry making. As soon as you enter, you are greeted by an explosion of irresistible aromas: butter, cinnamon and freshly baked bread create an atmosphere that immediately invites you to stop and enjoy something. Lagkagehuset is not just a simple bakery, but a true institution in the city, where the quality of the raw materials and the care in preparing the products are evident with every tasting.
One of the things that struck me most is the variety of desserts on display, all arranged with almost artistic care. The classic kanelsnegl, the typical Danish cinnamon spiral, is a must: soft, buttery, with a perfect balance between sweetness and spice, it is practically impossible to resist. But what makes Lagkagehuset special is how they manage to reinterpret even the great classics with a touch of modernity, while always maintaining that deep connection with the Nordic tradition.
The environment is welcoming and modern, with that minimalist aesthetic that seems to define most spaces in Copenhagen. Whether you choose to enjoy a dessert on the spot, accompanied by a coffee, or to take away a box of delights, the experience is always that of a small daily luxury. The bread here is also exceptional: the crunchy crust, soft interior and intense aroma demonstrate the dedication to quality and artisanal preparation.
A curiosity that is immediately evident is how Lagkagehuset has been able to successfully expand, not only throughout Copenhagen but also internationally, while maintaining its identity intact. Despite its growth, the bakery continues to offer products that reflect a love of detail and respect for traditional Danish recipes. This makes it a place where even Danes like to stop, knowing that here they will find the authentic taste of home.
Lagkagehuset is the perfect place for a break during a walk in the city or to start the day with a breakfast that tastes of Denmark. If you find yourself in Copenhagen, it's almost a must-see for an authentic experience, savoring the true spirit of Danish confectionery tradition in a contemporary setting.

Very nice pain au chocolat, but not an amazing display of pastries to be honest. Better off going to an independent bakery.

This direkstongel or something like that is one of the best things I have of my whole entire trip. This is better than the little mermaid, by far.

Unfortunately I have to give 3 stars and I'm sorry. Unfortunately the girls working at the counter are irritating, almost annoyed that you are asking them for information before ordering. I got a Pan au Chocolat to eat and to drink I found a "Matilde" and a "Cocio" or chocolate and milk.
