I recently visited Mother in Kødbyen, and overall, it was an excellent experience. The standout for me was definitely their cheese pizza, which was rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being overwhelming – a perfect balance that really showcased the quality of their ingredients. Their Margherita was also very good: simple, fresh, and exactly what you’d expect from a classic pizza done well. The pepperoni pizza, while decent, felt a little underwhelming in comparison. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it lacked the same punch and excitement that the other pizzas delivered. That being said, what truly elevated all of the pizzas was their incredible dough. It had the perfect texture – airy on the inside, with a beautifully charred crust that gave it that authentic wood-fired character. It’s the kind of dough you can happily eat on its own. It is on the pricier side, which means you naturally expect a high level of quality – and for the most part, Mother delivers on that. Combined with its lively, casual setting in Kødbyen, it’s a great spot for anyone who appreciates well-made, Italian-style pizzas with an unforgettable crust. ————————— I visited Mother in Kødbyen with my girlfriend, and while the pizza itself was quite tasty, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. At 160 DKK per pizza, you expect not only good food but also good service – and unfortunately, the service was disappointing from start to finish. Despite the restaurant being almost empty, we waited an unnecessarily long time before getting a table. Once seated, no waiter came over to take our order until we actively flagged someone down. When we finally did get service, the waiter seemed neither particularly friendly nor interested, which set a rather unwelcoming tone. The pizzas were undeniably good – fresh, flavorful, and with a nice charred crust – but the lack of attentiveness and warmth from the staff made it hard to truly enjoy the visit. Sadly, even with great pizza, it wasn’t the kind of dining experience I’d look forward to repeating.

Fast and efficient service from the moment they took the order, both starters and mains were brought at the same time which could be ok if it's what you are expecting, however no checks after food was brought to the table. Food was delicious but we had to chase waiters for the bill. Overall a really good experience but some improvement regarding service would make it spotless.

The vegetarian pizzas are nice!

Very tasty pizza, but longer waiting time when busy

The restaurant is very busy due to its location in Kødbyen. But the pizzas are really not recommendable. The lager beer had a taste like a failed beer.

The order took too long to arrive on the table. We expected the appetisers soon to start with, but we were just left with a bottle of wine not opened in front of the table and water to serve by ourselves for over half an hour. The pizzas were OK, but also arrived quite late.

The staff were not inviting at all, and took 30 minutes before they took our order. The pizza was good, but nothing special. It was impossible to get in contact with the staff to get the bill.

Teníamos grandes esperanzas cuando visitamos Mother Copenhagen, pero desafortunadamente la experiencia general cayó en saco roto, sobre todo debido al servicio. A pesar de que el restaurante estaba casi vacío, pasaron unos 15 minutos antes de que alguien nos reconociera. Nos colocaron en una mesa de esquina que se sentía más como un pensamiento posterior que una bienvenida. Los alrededores tampoco ayudaron: moho en las ventanas, copas de vino sucias y un plato compartido que aún tenía comida sobrante. Durante toda la comida, el servicio fue poco atento. No podíamos llamar la atención de un camarero para pedir bebidas adicionales, e incluso el agua, que costaba 25 DKK por persona con recargas gratuitas, nunca se rellenó, simplemente porque nadie vino. El vino fue otra decepción. El sello ya se había roto, y estaba claro que la botella se había utilizado antes, algo que no se espera en un lugar con este nivel de precio. La pizza en sí tenía potencial, pero la masa era demasiado blanda y claramente mal cocida. Necesitaba más tiempo en el horno. Además de eso, las coberturas eran mínimas y no coincidían con el precio. Para colmo, uno de nuestros huéspedes pidió postre de vainilla sin café, que el camarero confirmó que estaba bien. Sin embargo, todavía nos cobraron por el postre completo con café. Si no podían separarlo, al menos podrían haber ofrecido el café a otra persona en la mesa. En general: pizza promedio, mal servicio y una experiencia decepcionante que no está a la altura del bombo o el precio. No es un lugar al que volveremos.

Det finns få saker som är så härligt i Danmark som restauranger och caféer i lokaler som känns genuina och inte så stylade. Befriande att slippa konceptuella miljöer. Mother är ett perfekt exempel. Lokalen har några år på nacken, och det är dess främsta tillgång. Ljus, lugn och med flera olika delar att sitta i. Maten är vällagad och dryckeslistan är lagom lång. Väl utvalt. Servicen är snabb, personlig och omtänksam. Finns inte mycket mer att begära egentligen.
