Best value for money bakery on Amager. Do not pay the stupidly high prices of Bagerdygtigt (store bought pastries, not fresh), Meyers (insanely overpriced), Lagkagehuset (large Corporation) Support this lovely local business who make fresh Danish pastries with love and care, just as if Mormor had baked them. :)

We spontaneously passed by the bakery while looking for a café that was closed, and it was amazing to have stopped there. We ordered takeout and everything was delicious. The breads are naturally fermented and the pastries are delicious. We also got cappuccinos, which were very good as well.

My favourite bakery in CPH. Very affordable and extremely tasty. The best cardammon buns I've ever had. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. I totally recommend to try everything they offer. Also the coffee is great :) We visit every time when in CPH.

Loved this place! Went there every morning during our short stay in Copenhagen and by the third day the person working there knew my order! Good coffee, friendly staff, and amazing baked goods like the brunsviger and cardamom bun. I would highly recommend this to anyone staying in the area or just passing by!

Hart Bakery Holmen

05/08/2026: In my opinion, this is the best bakery in Copenhagen. Founded by Richard Hart, famous pastry chef, Hart Bakery has several locations across the city, but this one stands out for its atmosphere, architecture, and overall vibe. Everything I tried was exceptional—refined, thoughtfully crafted, and genuinely enjoyable. The Bun & Cheese was a particular highlight: simple in concept, yet sophisticated and perfectly executed. Richard Hart’s sourdough cookbook is also outstanding and well-deserved of the recognition it has received. Their coffees are excellent as well. You can sit inside, but if I were to visit again, I would choose a seat outside regardless of the weather. There’s something special about enjoying great coffee and pastries while taking in the neighborhood atmosphere. A truly memorable bakery experience and a place I would gladly return to.
