An institution since 1910 – and you can see why. The service was top notch – attentive, warm and professional from the first second. The kind of service that is rare and makes the whole experience unforgettable. The open sandwiches are craftsmanship in the best sense of the word. The herring with its sour counterpoint, the paper-thin roast beef with soft onions and horseradish, the butter-fried plaice fillet – all served on solid homemade rye bread. Every single slice is prepared with pride and respect for the old recipes. And then the place itself is something in itself – historic vaulted cellar rooms from 1797, a stone's throw from Christiansborg, where there is the sum of genuine Copenhagen coziness and atmosphere.
