When we stumbled across Picniq on a perfect summer day in Denmark, we knew we needed to celebrate our marriage there. The sweet, cozy interior, the perfect porch, the kind staff, the delicious food, good wine list, all made it easy to book. What made it even easier was Jan’s positive attitude, constant problem solving, and hand holding for us Americans as we tried to integrate Danish wedding traditions into our evening. Everyone has since raved about the food in particular, and agreed that was the best wedding food they’d ever had. We filled the space and it wasn’t too loud, and friends were made in the short line for the bathroom — if we could do it again we’d make the bathroom vestibule into its own experience with dance lights just to keep it fun. We booked a cumbia band for the welcome drinks and it was a blast — thanks to Jan and team for making the evening better than we could have imagined.

Lovely place in the middle of the park

Is there better and sweeter service in Denmark than here? We have rarely received such good treatment and been greeted with so many smiles and so much enthusiasm as when we had brunch here on a summer Sunday and also later when we returned for a beer. Our waiter and the other young people were simply so friendly, smiling and attentive and made us feel so welcome. Hold on to it, because it is not a given. The food was also fantastic, and we were hungry and ordered many dishes. It all tasted so good and was deliciously presented. Freshly baked, crispy bread, well-cooked scrambled eggs, crispy waffles, fresh lemonade and much more. We will hopefully be back soon.

Nice brunch spot in the middle of Valbyparken! We sat outside on the terrace — the setting was calm and really beautiful. The sourdough bread, butter, and jam were all super tasty. I really liked the skyr with granola, though it had a bit too much jam for my taste. Scrambled eggs were great, just wish the portion was bigger. The mushroom toast was amazing! Good service but busy. Bread didn't come on its own, but had to be reordered - and then it only came when we had eaten most of the food.

Nice little place in the middle of lovely Valbyparken. Unfortunately it has become too expensive for the quality considering it is a small eatery with a limited selection.

Top class food and service. Definitely worth a visit.

A lovely little restaurant! Highly recommended if you're at the outdoor playground with the kids or want to enjoy the natural atmosphere!
