Pingvin Aalborg

I remember Pingvin as a really good place to eat from when it was in the city center. Unfortunately, it seems that the place has lost some of its charm after moving to Stjernepladsen. The food was quite good, but the next day I had difficulty remembering the menu or any special taste experiences. It simply did not make a noticeable impression. Unfortunately, the decor also detracted from the experience. Both the chairs, tables and the general atmosphere reminded me of an older, slightly run-down pizzeria in the province. I can't remember exactly what the decor was like in the old premises, but my friend and I both immediately noticed the lack of quality in the furnishings and the somewhat sad decor. Our waiter naturally asked if we wanted coffee or dessert after the meal. But after almost two hours on the chairs, my lower back was so sore that I didn't want to sit a minute longer than necessary - not even if the coffee had been free. Overall, the visit was okay, but the experience unfortunately did not live up to the positive memories I had from Pingvin's previous location. 3 tiny stars will do, but 2 stars wouldn't be quite right either.

Well prepared food, very tasty. Got the tapas Quick Menu. Note that there is an extra charge for water and butter.

It is fine place ! Good atmosphere, music not loud so you can talk - staff is friendly, prices are fair!

We got a set menu for Aalborg eating out. It was ok but nothing special and too expensive for what you got , the dessert was really good though. The wine was ok but didn't really go with the food and was too warm for our taste. Butter was not included in the price and cost extra. You sit very very close. The service was very friendly The acoustics were good for how many people there were.

My wife and I ate at Pingvin when we were on a weekend in Aalborg. It was a lovely experience. The various appetizers were delicious and beautifully presented, and we went home full after 4 and 6 courses, respectively, followed by 3 desserts. Since the following evening we mostly wanted to just stay in the hotel room, we chose Pingvin again, and their takeaway was just as satisfying. A clear recommendation from here.
