PlanB Tapas Vin&Cocktail Vejle

Mixed feeling after dining week 2022 visit with my mum and brother. Service was messy. Difficult to get hold of his servant. The wine glasses on the table were filthy dirty. We ordered 3 drinks, one arrived barely 10 minutes before the other 2. The signature tasted of nothing, the other 2 of juice, so much so that you could doubt whether there was % in it. We had ordered a bottle of wine that had to stand and breathe - it was forgotten when we got the food, and was then given to another table so a new bottle had to be opened after the food had arrived. The 3 dishes were extremely delicious, but the portions were almost laughable.. we ordered bread on the side, and were still a little hungry when we left.. whether it's usually like this or there's been a bit saved in relation to dining week, in don't know. The room is cozy but with poor acoustics, you can barely hear what the waiter said and we had to speak quite loudly to each other. The food pulled the review up to 3.. inexorable I would not return.

The food tasted really good, but the quantity was too small for you to be really full. We had the Thursday tapas and were disappointed with the amount of food. You have to eat a lot of bread to be full. The service was really good. The atmosphere is ok and the restaurant cozy.

So, my eating-out-plan in Vejle (on this cold, dark Wednesday evening) was an Italian restaurant (midtown), that I knew quite well. BUT they were fully booked that night, and thus I had to come up with an alternative, or in other words a plan b. How very convenient that (after a short walk) I stood in from of the entrance to a restaurant/bar called just that = PLAN B. I took this as a sign from above and it turned out to be a great decision. From the moment I entered PLAN B everything was perfect. A young, but nonetheless accommodating and experienced waiter welcomed me and pointed me to a corner table at the window, from where I had a great view both of the restaurant and also what happened outside. My wish for a vegetarian dish (even though I ordered 15 minutes before the kitchen closed) was no problem at all. The waiter went out into the kitchen, talked things over with the chef and came right back to me with a great suggestion. I’m not going to go into all details, but the dish was wonderfully composed and cooked as well as presented on the plate. Had a great (fitting) Danish beer (Carlsberg 1883) alongside and later for desert I chose the brownie ice cream, which was so good, that I simply had to order it twice … I was allowed to stay until around 22:30h (so I could finish also my online work) and I was the last guest to (VERY satisfied) leave the restaurant. Oh, I need to point out that A) except for the salad everything was home made and freshly prepared in the kitchen and B ) that the chef also in person came to my table to make sure every was to my liking. I’m happy to give PLAN B 5 out of 5 stars and will gladly come back again and recommend others to dine there.

We had a lovely evening on plan B with super food fantastic organic Riesling and super service thank you for the lovely evening.
