Cozy place was for the Christmas fair

We stayed here as two adults without children with one room per person for five nights. We enjoyed it very much. The Refborg is very pretty, very authentic and overall lovingly run by private individuals. Therefore it is neither a business hotel nor a resort hotel. The interaction is friendly and very familiar. It is very cozy in Refborg. The rooms are not huge, I didn't need them, they really had everything you needed: comfortable beds, clean, pretty bathroom, tea maker, desk... It's an older style hotel, which contributes a lot to the coziness and well-being. If you are looking for a business hotel, as mentioned above, you may not get your money's worth here. Particularly noteworthy is the lovely breakfast, which is also nicely laid out and has lots of nice things. There is no espresso, but it is generally not common in Denmark. Another plus is the location, 1 minute to the grocery store, 5 minutes to the House of Lego, just under 8-10 minutes to the restaurants. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed during our holiday week, so I can't say anything about it, but if it's open it seems like a tip. Overall really recommended!

Pleasant hotel with a cozy atmosphere. Lovely breakfast. Practical room.

The window in the room could not be closed completely - the handle was cracked. The drains in the bathroom smell. When the wind is strong, there is a lot of noise coming from the skylight. The room did not have a proper wardrobe. Stains on the carpet in the hallway. Staff pleasant. Breakfast great!

We had high expectations. . And weren't disappointed BUT; The steak although excellent meat was undercooked. As I had asked for rare this was a problem. Slightly dissappointing and no response when we asked about it Potatoes were delicious as was the bread and brown butter. Superb red wine . We had carpaccio to start which was delicious. All served with a tomatoes salad which had come straight from the fridge and was painful to eat it was so cold. We did t touch this as it was freezing g cold . . Word with steak. Salad is good. . Painful freezing . .not good. We had a lovely gentleman ( jonathan) serve us who did a fine job . This resturant has potential to be superb but doesn't make it with basic errors. Not a cheap meal so it should be 10 out of 10. . . But we would return.

Good position, just 150 meters from Lego house. Clean.

I stopped by to have a coffee with a good friend, at the reception we said that we only wanted to have a coffee and that he would charge us to go to the restaurant to order it.....and my face had to be a poem when I heard: "no please "If it's just a coffee you don't have to pay anything," said with a kindness and a smile that I prefer not to compare with other places, you understand me... without words

Fine personal service and lovely food plus top location in the middle of the city

I wish I could give this restaurant 6 stars! Or maybe I need to go back and downgrade some of my previous 5 star ratings, because this restaurant is so much better than those! First off, you must order the bread and butter service. It was so memorable! The butter was smooth and creamy and had a salted caramel flavor. It paired so well with the light, and slightly salty focaccia bread. I’ve never had anything like it! My husband and I shared the beef carpaccio and it was divine! So many different flavors. My kids ordered from the kids menu. The fact that they even have a kids menu is remarkable. They both got the pasta bolognese with a side of raw veggies. Everything was happily eaten. My husband and I both got the ribeye steaks. They were perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. They came with lovely cooked carrots and broccoli and a side of super crunchy frites. So good! And on top of the good food was the awesome attentive, friendly service. I highly recommend this restaurant when visiting Billund!
