New people in the kitchen? The food was even better than previous years. Especially the warm herring was fantastic - hope they keep up the standard in the future. Definitely recommended..

We had a magical experience at Restaurant 1971 on our last night in Copenhagen. Feeling very cold and hungry, we stopped here spur of the moment and were so glad we did. Wonderful, authentic Danish food in a beautifully, cosy restaurant with outstanding service from the family that own it. A true hidden gem!

We went there for the Christmas menu which was delicious. It was like a traditional julefrokost with a great beer sortiment and akvavit from Denmark and Iceland. Lovely service and nice atmosphere. We will come back!

I ordered Christmas lunch out of the house from Restaurant 1971 and it was a fantastic experience! The whole menu was delicious, a fresh and tasty Christmas menu, ending with rice salamander with a little Icelandic inspiration. I can highly recommend this restaurant, especially the fried herring was clearly the highlight. A 5-star Christmas lunch experience!

Now we have both tried eating sandwiches here for lunch and the evening menu. What a food! What a service! What an atmosphere! The mustard herring with the Bornholm mustard was very tasty and the same goes for all the smørrebrød - made from scratch - simply perfect. We came again yesterday and chose the complex island menu with lobster soup, lamb crown (one of us had coalfish instead) and rhubarb cake for dessert. It was all paired with natural Georgian wines. The result was a dining experience lifted to another level. The food simply melted on the tongue - and something magical happened when the Georgian wines were added. Thank you so much for an excellent dining experience!
