A lovely authentic Danish restaurant in the middle of the green park, delicious herring with accompanying schnapps and beer!

Simply a fantastic experience. Incredibly down-to-earth and informal service. The food was more than worth the money. The location is just absolutely fantastic. Such a cool experience, and such a cozy atmosphere.

Very nice traditional Danish food as it should be (I am Danish). Superb quality for the price. Everything seemed homemade and was very tasty. Good idea to book a table in advance. The service was great and the atmosphere very cosy in the small cabin.

Remember to book a table. Top class Danish smørrebrød on top of Valby Bakke surrounded by big old trees. Life is good when you sit and enjoy some of the many temptations in the sun.

There were hardly any guests that morning, but excellent service by Fabian.

This little gem was recommended to us by our Airbnb hostess when we asked about traditional Danish dining. It is located next to a large parkland &, on a sunny day, sitting in the garden under umbrellas is a treat. We had one of their shared platters. The staff were friendly &, like most Danes, spoke excellent English. Platter was generous. Mrs Despot loved the cold pork belly with homemade pickles. Mr Despot loved the pickled herring. Highly recommended.

Delicious food, great service and a cozy oasis at the top

Nice and friendly waiter! Fresh and tasty smørrebrød! All fixtures are not new and state of the art, but I find that charming! However, too many dogs among the guests for my taste, but I'm not fond of dogs either!

We live in the area, and we walk often in the park and we always wonder about this location. Today we decided to take the chance and have lunch. What a surprise! Very friendly staff, fluent in English, and very welcoming. We ordered a couple of smørrebrød (open top sandwich), and you could tell the fish was freshly fried and the sandwich just assembled. Very good Carlsberg on tap and definitely competitive prices. I definitely recommend this location if you want to try some typical danish cuisine. We will come back.
