While browsing the Michelin app, I came across this restaurant near my location open for lunch. My mom and I popped in on our way back from The Little Mermaid to our hotel, and this restaurant fit the bill.
I'd like to clarify and say that this restaurant was not a Michelin Star restaurant; it is on the list as a more affordable option with nonetheless very good food.
When we walked in, we were immediately surprised by the clientele. The restaurant appeared to be a business center, with most of the tables surrounded by men and women in suits. But, we nonetheless found a table and were seated promptly.
We both ordered the tasting menu, which was a very good choice. Every single course we ate shattered the stereotype of Danish food; it was tasty, fresh, and had great presentation. However, I did not like the bacon + mushroom side for the tarteletter as much because it was a little heavy. It was still good, but the salty bacon accentuated the heaviness, so we were unable to finish it.
I'd definitely recommend a visit for lunch or dinner; or any other time, for that matter. Our servers were very kind and attentive, and empty dishes disappeared quickly.

The smørrebrød and herring were so fantastic that we returned during one weekend’s stay. Everything was delectable and the service delightful. My mother’s herring was never so good, and she certainly didn’t serve it with an aquavit pairing

So why only three? Well, price doesn't match overall, and there are quite a few alternatives offering the famous DK smørrebrød in walking distance.
We had hønsesalat & roastbeef (my company) and some moinyed w shrimps and mayo, and the targeted on rye (smørrebrød, you get it?).
I found my servings absolutely delicious only too much - actually way too much - mayo om the fish, and so I had to scrape it off ...(!!) - for a 200DKK sandwich you don't scrape of anything.
The beef was excellent and since the staff didn't care to present anything but "everything okay?", I never realised the cut, breed or where it came from. Qualified guess would be Himmerland, Angus, and upper leg, maybe Picanha. Bottom line is, it was excellent.
Conclusion is, that I'm somewhat divided and if you want to spend this is definitely the place to go to get smørrebrød.

Local diner for business meals. Dinner wasn’t as impressive as reviewed, choice of menu is important as some dishes better than others.

An incredible dining experience at Restaurant Møntergade! Every flavour was spot on from the first bite of perfectly crafted Smørrebrød to the last spoonful of classic Danish Æblekage.
Authentic, delicious, and beautifully presented — highly recommend!

Lovely dinner experience at Montergade! We were able to book a day in advance for our group for dinner.
The food is simple but amazing, with different flavours. Totally understand why this place is featured as Michelin Bib Gourmand. They also offer daily specials on their blackboard, so remember to check them out.
Highly recommend the baked cod, risotto with glazed pork cheek + truffle, and seared mullet. The baked cod especially tasted delish, with potato soup underneath a perfectly soft and buttery piece of cod. (according to others) this place offers the authentic Danish dining experience.

A warm and generous experience - every dish in perfect balance without any ingredient dominating. From delectable bread (crispy crust with moist, elastic crumb), good butter, freshly shucked oysters, smoked and salty almonds, delicious scallops in their pumpkiny accompaniment, superb turbot with pommes purée and Danish snails, fat leaved parsley and a delicate fish sauce …. How about the white tablecloths, heavy silverware, knives that can cut?? But best of all is the smashingly excellent wine list, and the generosity of the patrons. A night to remember, a memory to savour. Champagne heaven.

Right at the top among Copenhagen's lunch restaurants.
The food is made with care and from good ingredients. A good big fixed card and a good handful of board dishes that change often. The service is elegant, friendly and appropriately laid back. You sit comfortably and can easily enjoy your own company with a good atmosphere in the restaurant as a background.
