Really good experience. The food is as good as open sandwiches can get, and the same goes for service and schnapps. You just have to be prepared to spend around 700 kroner per nose, for the full experience, with room to add on top. Which is well spent if you're into that kind of thing.

Some of the best food I've ever had, incredible that it came in the form of an open sandwich. I am usually wary of such large menus, however everything we ordered had perfectly balanced the various notes of the main protein with sourness, creaminess, and sweetness.
The wait staff is clearly happy and likes each other, leading to an interesting "smarter" restaurant that feels quite casual. I will be returning.

My favorite restaurant in Copenhagen!
Old school food and vibe, but incredible. Our Australian waiter ( who has lived here for over a decade) had great recommendations, as the menu is extensive and overwhelming.
His Akvavit recommendation was the best I've had.
They are known for their Smørrebrød but I usually opt for the warm dishes and haven't had anything less than a 10/10.
Only gripe, I find it incredible hard to get a reservation anything less than a month out. This includes walking in last minute and calling. But when I get there, the dining room is 1/3 full and it looks like the waitstaff is holding their own. Disappointing a spontaneous trip isn't ever in the cards. If visiting-book well in advance.
Advice would be open for dinner, if you can because I think the demand would be there.

A visit to Restaurant Schønnemann would be nothing short of a delight for anyone traveling through Copenhagen looking for the best smørrebrød in town.
Starting off with a Fried Fillet of Plaice, Norwegian style, showcasing a perfectly fried Danish flounder, topped with crayfish and roe.
Consider the next plate your last - enjoy the classic chicken salad served over rye bread, or white as the locals do. Creamy and decadent, this pairs perfectly with peppermint schnapps.

Very nice place to try traditional herring and open sandwiches. Some sandwiches are really big enough, I would rather say that it is not a sandwich, but a core dish.
The atmosphere is perfect, the reservation is easy to make. My best recommendations for visiting this place

Fue toda una sorpresa ver que aproximadamente una cuarta parte de las buenas críticas para este lugar están escritas en danés - por lo que debe atraer a los lugareños, así como a los turistas a lo que es tanto una experiencia como una comida. El almuerzo se sirve en dos sesiones en un edificio histórico adecuadamente amueblado con mesa, paños y servilletas de lino. El servicio impecable es igual - sobre todo por caballeros maduros que dan la impresión de que han aprendido y elaborado su oficio a lo largo de muchos años. No hay falsas chulerías aquí. Y por cierto la comida es excelente y claramente auténticamente danesa. Elaborados smorrebrod son los platos básicos y los dos que probé estaban bastante deliciosos. No es de extrañar que se reserve con semanas de antelación.

Hicimos reservas de almuerzo en Schonnemann durante nuestra estancia en Copenhague el verano pasado. La comida era fabulosa. Teníamos una buena variedad de platos clásicos daneses. El camarón de Groenlandia fue uno de los aspectos más destacados. Este lugar tiene una abundancia de encanto del Viejo Mundo y la comida es definitivamente imperdible.
