Restaurant Strandparken Holbæk

I went on a weekday evening just past 6pm. The waitstaff understood English well, checking my understanding of how the menu worked. The portions are small, with the intention you build your own courses or select the chef's choice. I chose the latter for the meal but hand selected a Chardonnay from the menu for drink. Overall a lovely, quiet, atmosphere with a gorgeous view of the Holbaek Fjord both from the outdoor seating and large westward bay windows giving natural light into the sunset. The chosen wine by myself was a light, sweet, inoffensive Gorgée de Soleil, Chardonnay 2024. The hostess did confirm that that it would pair well with the meals which was lovely. Starter was Asparagus, cream, garden greens, vinaigrette and trout Roe. Beautifully plated, with the smoked cheese cream balancing the tartness and saltines from the roe. The provided Bread made in-house Lovely with an airy crumb and a gorgeous crust topped with herbs. The butter was whipped which is always a pleasant attention to detail. The second course has some lovely caramelization on the artichokes with a citrusy Ramson pesto acting as a lovely transition to the third course. Third was a breaded sirloin steak, topped with pearl onions, pickled red cabbage and corn and laid on a bed of Julienned carrot, zucchini, and parsnip. Desert was a light, tart rhubarb purée. The sweetness of the crumble and crème fraîche is lovely.

Dejligt sted, der ligger ned til vandet, med den skønneste udsigt. Maden er meget velsmagende . Konceptet er mindre retter , og derved flere smagsoplevelser. Betjeningen er meget behagelig og servicerende.
