Ikke fast food, når man rammer rush hour fredag aften. Der gik lidt vel lang tid, før maden var klar. Men skøn udsigt, mens man venter, og super gode burgere og fritter, som var ventetiden værd. Og sød betjening, selvom de var lidt pressede på bemandingen.

Review of Route 66, Frederikssund - Grillen's answer to hitting an iceberg on the Titanic** After a long, hot day on the water, with the sun baking us to perfection, we four boys got ready for what was to be the culinary highlight of the day. We dropped anchor and headed for Route 66 in Frederikssund. With stomachs grumbling and thoughts of an ice-cold beer and a juicy burger on the horizon, we were sure we were in for a treat - but we were quickly dragged down to the lowest level of the grill. We ordered **4 x menu with burger**. What did we get? **4 x burger menu**. I know it sounds the same, but when you are hungry and have been sailing for hours, there is a difference that only hungry sailors understand. First shock: **No beer**. What is this? A barbecue bar or an Antarctic research center? Not even a lukewarm one they could muster. We got soft drinks instead. It's as wrong as pouring sugar on salted popcorn. The disappointment was monumental. Then there was the burger. I find it hard to describe it without crying a little. Boring is an understatement. It was like eating a cardboard box that had been exposed to a little too much sun. Each bite took me further away from the meal we had earned. The bun was so dry that I suspected it had been there since last summer, and the steak – if you can call it that – was bland and uninspired. And the remoulade? **There was no remoulade**. They have either forgotten it, or they think that people in Frederikssund are against taste. To complete the disaster: **no napkins**. After the driest burger in living memory we were left with greasy hands as we desperately tried to avoid greasing the rudder when we had to sail home. The raw materials? Let's just say they were probably better off before they were turned into the sad scraps that ended up in our burgers. The only thing missing to complete the experience was an apology from the grill that we had chosen them. **Route 66** should be a route you should never have taken. If you're looking for a burger experience that will make you question your life choices, this is the place. We sailed back, not full, but with a new understanding of what hunger really means.
