Very cosy with the long table concept, so you actually get to meet and talk to the people you are eating dinner with. Traditional Bulgarian dishes with a twist. Big congrats to Anna for mastering the hand-made filo dough for the banitsa. Must try!

Stepping in to Zar you immediately feel at home with a warm welcome from the host. We sat at the long table dining with fellow wine and food enthusiast and had an amazing dinner in a laid back atmosphere. The food is made with passion and great quality ingredients. The vibe is as if dining with friends and eating grandmas homemade cooking. Stunning place with great people, amazing selection of wine and great food.

The first thing that caught our attention was the hospitable and welcoming atmosphere that embraced us. The hosts were not only attentive but knowledgeable about the menu and eager to share their knowledge of Bulgarian culture through the food. Now for the highlight: the food! Every bite was a culinary feast celebrating Bulgaria's rich gastronomic heritage. From the refreshing winter salad, with its combination of fresh vegetables, to the juicy tender and flavorful Banitsa, each dish was a symphony of deliciousness. A particular highlight was their selection of natural wines selected to perfection that complimented the flavors in an amazing way to the dishes Finally, the sweet ending! Their selection of desserts, especially the traditional Anglais with sourdough paste, was a fantastic end to an unforgettable meal. Overall, Zar was an unforgettable experience. From the authentic atmosphere to the amazingly flavorful food, this is a place where the heart and soul of Bulgaria shines through in every meal. A warm recommendation for anyone who wants to explore Bulgaria's culture through their amazing cuisine.
