Wow, wow, wow!!! Saji is hands down the best Asian food I’ve had in Copenhagen. The restaurant is so cozy, and every single dish we tried was amazing. Everything was incredibly flavorful with just the right amount of spice. I loved it so much, and it’s a place I’ll keep recommending to anyone looking for great Indonesian food in Copenhagen.

One of - if not the best - meals we had in Copenhagen. The grilled fish - and I am not normally a fish person - blew my mind and palate. Other dishes we had were also absolutely delicious. The chef came to table with our dessert and it just felt as if we were his personal guests - so warm and welcoming. We would absolutely return when in Copenhagen again.

Saji was the closest thing to being transported back to Indonesia without boarding another flight. I ended up coming back twice for dinner during my four-day visit to Copenhagen. Every bite was pure nostalgia. The rendang? Incredible. The iga? Don’t even get me started. And the siomay udang was the perfect way to kick things off. If you’re in Copenhagen and craving authentic Indonesian food, do yourself a favor and go. A special thank you to Sam and the entire team for the warm hospitality. ​I visited Saji close to the launch of their new menu, which has an amazing blend of Indonesian cuisine and Danish (and Indonesian) ingredients. The sauces here are practically addictive! ​As starters We ordered the otak otak, siomay udang, and udang goreng. All were amazing, but the siomay udang with its saus kacang (peanut sauce) was the highlight for me. ​As mains, we had the rendang sapi, sate kambing, and iga bakar. Everything was delicious. The iga bakar was incredibly tender with a fantastic kecap manis based sauce (I believe), and I loved the slightly charred flavor of the sate kambing. ​The Only Minus is that the rice portions are very small. We ordered three dishes that come with rice, but only received one bowl, which is plenty for one person, but already not enough for two. I'd highly recommend serving a larger portion. We arrived 4 minutes early and were initially asked to wait outside. However, once seated, the service was kind and attentive throughout the meal. The space is a bit small but very cozy. There is also a clean restroom available (note: it requires using the stairs). ​Overall, it was a great experience and I would love to visit again!

I went there last weekend and this is the honest opinion of my visit. The place is nice but nothing out of the ordinary, the witress was very nice and well informed. Now, the food. I ordered the grilled fish, I was expecting to see the whole fish for 300krn and it was three triangles but the witress warn me about before I ordered. The flavor was good, a little too sweet for my taste but good. The problem was that the skin was not properly clean and still had a Lot of scales that make it really difficult to eat and unpleasant. The first time I thought it was bad luck but this is the second time with 5 months apart, so it means that they simply don't clean well the fish. The ceviche was so tiny.

After many days traveling the Nordics was in desperate need for spice, acid, and southeast asian food. Saji blew our expectations out of the water and delivered on all fronts. Portions were good, flavors were legit, and prices were reasonable especially by Copenhagen standards. Shoutout to the mariah curry, beef rendang, and shrimp dumplings, they were standouts. My only note is that service could be improved, waters were not refilled at all during the meal, plates were not cleared etc. However, servers were very friendly and engaging when there was service. But i don’t want that to detract from the food, the food was great and overall the experience was an easy 5 stars.
