Sankt Annæ København

Lovely restaurant with great typical food. We were a bit shocked when the bill came given the amount we’d had but it’s in a great location with amazing food so we were still happy. The best part of our experience was undoubtedly the brilliant service from Davide.

A nice restaurant with Danish tradition, it looks like daily food you can have, but you will find some delicacy in it. Please do not forget the shots! A warm welcome and decent service make the experience a big plus!

We took a chance and went in off the street to see if there was a table for two. With some brief negotiation we were offered a table if we could be done in an hour. The offer was gladly accepted and we chose 3 smaller dishes from the menu. These were a trio of herring (with egg and a curry sauce, marinated and pickles), smoked eel and house made liver pate The herring was served first with firm advice that this was a dish to be eaten by itself. Good advice, they were the best herring dishes I've eaten. The marinated and the pickles herring in particular were both great. Next the smoked eel and the pate were served together. Again the smoked eel was the best I've ever eaten - tender, beautiful smoked flavour and so good it is not served with any dressing or condiments. The pate was coarse in texture but great in flavour. My partner has a German Reisling by the glass and I had an IPA from a small local brewery, both drinks were well matched to the food. Service was immaculate. Most of the other diners were business people but the ambience of the dining room was very relaxing. We finished our meal with 4 minutes to spare. Highly recommended but try booking rather than walking in, it won't usually be successful. The restaurant is only open for lunch

Great spot near Nyhavn with a more authentic vibe, not overly touristy. The food is excellent, and the Danish hospitality is warm and welcoming. It's a bit pricey, but you'd likely spend the same at a touristy spot anyway. Overall, I highly recommend it for the good food and proper service.

Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food

A good place to try quality typical Danish food. We ordered two traditional fish dishes under the waiter's recommendation and two soft drinks. The service was excellent and Agustín (I seem to remember that was the name of the Spanish waiter who served us) was very attentive at all times. Delicious dishes and perfect quantities. 436 dkk between two people (not including tip). We would return.

Amazing food. We stumbled upon this restaurant because of rain during the lunch hours. But this turned out to be our best meal in our entire trip of scandinavia!

A small, but charming lunch only restaurant in central Copenhagen. It specializes in smorrrebrod, Danish open faced sandwiches. In a fairly formal service, professional waiters offer recommendations. The plates are Royal Copenhagen porcelain, a nice touch. We had the special tiny bay shrimp and lobster salad, which were both specials and delicious. After picking up our sandwiches, as we would usually do in America, we realized too late that the Danes carefully cut each bite and eat it with knife and fork. Oops. I’m sure we weren’t the first diners to make that mistake, but wish we had know. I highly recommend Sankt Annae for the food and atmosphere.

One of the best old style lunch restaurants in Copenhagen. The sandwiches are delicious and traditionally Danish. The service is professional and friendly. Royal Danish Porcelain plates are used and the decor is traditional Danish.
