Scandic Aalborg City Aalborg

Great hotel at a great location to the city center.

A typical Scandic hotel in a central location in Aalborg, right next to the Kulturfoum. The city center and Aalborg St. are just a few minutes' walk away. The breakfast offers a very good selection: fruit, cold cuts, cheese, bread, rolls, crispbread, juice, hot chocolate, egg dishes, salads, etc. All fresh and delicious. The staff at the reception and in the restaurant were friendly and accommodating at all times. There is also a small shop at the reception where you can buy drinks, sweets, and sandwiches for a quick snack. There is also a bar where you can buy beer, wine, and other beverages, both for consumption at the bar and to take to your room. Value for money: The already high Danish prices rose even further during Carnival, so we found it a bit too expensive this time… We would still be happy to return to this or one of the other Scandic hotels.

It's a great place, but when there is something in the Congress Center, its crowded and hard to find parking.

We really enjoyed our stay at Scandic Aalborg City! The front desk staff was very helpful suggesting things to see and all of the staff was friendly and service-oriented. The breakfast buffet was absolutely fantastic and something we looked forward to every morning. Our room was clean, well-appointed, and we had everything we needed during our stay. We were within walking distance to most everything we wanted to see, but we did rent some scooters during our stay. They were fun, but at one point, we were told by a local that wearing helmets was a legal requirement, and we could be fined 1200 DKK for riding without. Thankfully we had no accidents and no tickets either.

Efficient small hotel, with rooms at reasonable prices. No nonsense, what you see is what you get. there is not really any service, and possibly you can order food outside the city or at the small cafe/restaurant sale in the foyer. Then most of all an ok place to sleep.
