Selfish København

Most authentic place I have been outside of Japan. The quality of the fish is very good and the service is great! Don’t expect a fancy place, but a truly traditional one. Highly recommended👍🏻

Best sushi in Copenhagen, very fresh and well made. I recommend it 100%. The lunch menu is great and cheaper.

Really small and authentic Japanese sushi joint, mostly takeaway going on here. Although have a look a the blackboard with todays specials for some of the really good stuff :)

The sushi are amazing. We ordered two large lunch set of 160kr and we got 13 pieces, and I am not disappointed. They were very fresh! I love the tuna, scallop and salmon. The only not so nice experience is the service. They have a policy not to bring water from outside. In my case, I always brought my tumbler for hot water and because of rainy days I didnt order (cold) drinks. And not so long after we ordered, the staff from the kitchen came to our table and said more or less to me "Ah so because of this (my tumbler), you didnt order drinks. We cant make profit if you didnt order drinks". There were more words, but I couldn't remember as it was already too shocking and very embarrassing. Even it took quite a while for me to keep my own emotional state back to "normal" so I would not cried. The worst day in 2024. And I strongly believe, there are a lot of better ways to socialize the policy, esp in loving and respectful way.

Excellent sushi, definitely one of the best places in Copenhagen at the moment. The fish is some of the best that I have tried in the city, it tasted much higher quality and more fresh than most other places. I highly recommend this restaurant, however they don't have a lot of seating, so book table in advance. They are well-suited for takeaway.

We had a large sushi platter and vegetarian dumpling for sharing between two people. The portion size was OK, but we found the rice to be served too warm to our preference. Compared to other sushi experiences, we have never had it this warm before and thus a bit unusual to us. Not sure if it was a one-off, or if this is how sushi is made at Selfish. The fish seemed fresh and tasted nice, besides two slices of what we thought may have been tuna steak that was slightly grilled to the surface. It was a little chewy and had an off flavour. The vegetarian dumpling was unfortunately a little bland og hard to distinguish the flavors of the filling, it was more like a flavourless vegetable mash. The restaurant space is small with only a few tables. We had a table outside, on street level. It is hard to rate atmosphere, as both the indoor and outdoor space is very plain, nothing special or unique. Sitting outside you must enjoy watching people and traffic close up. Service was great and the staff was very friendly.

Perhaps Denmark's best sushi! Can highly recommend!

One of our favorite meals we enjoyed during our stay in Copenhagen. It's more traditional, quality sushi at a very reasonable price for Copenhagen. We ordered the XL (20 pc) set for the 2 of us, and it was a bit exciting not knowing what to expect. I personally enjoyed the salmon, sweet shrimp and scallop nigiris, along with the inari the most. The service is also stellar--the servers and the chef seem incredibly sweet. There are several tables set up outside where we sat, perfect for warm days.
