Els led the way, still in her black coat from Johnny's Vintage and Leathers, and I followed—tired, hungry, but full of pride. Chili Sharwarma smelled of garlic, jet lag, and adventure. "She's crazy as a fool," she hummed, unfolding her shawarma like a Dior bag. The sauce dripped down her leather sleeve, but she said: > "Tradition endures, Harm. Even in tzatziki." I laughed. She took a bite as if making a statement. The man behind the counter looked confused—he didn't see any customers, he saw a work of art. I asked if he'd ever felt leather that carried so many stories.
