Pizzas were good, but the atmosphere was ruined by the blinding sun and lack of blinds or curtains. Was super uncomfortable trying to eat and enjoy the evening unable to see and being boiling hot.

Hmm… I’m a bit confused here:
The pizzas are a clear 10/10 – without a doubt some of the best in Copenhagen! I’m also happy to pay for that and I’ll definitely promise that if you’re allowed to…
Our 2 pizzas cost 215 DKK and 245 DKK respectively and on top of that the cheapest small beer starts at 80 DKK and goes up to 295 DKK, and a small soda (25 cl) costs 55 DKK.
The room itself is quite boring and industrial - a bit like sitting in a messy canteen - and although the kitchen is intended as part of the experience, you can’t actually really see them making the pizzas. And then you sit so close that you almost expect to be introduced to the table next to you upon arrival.
We got 2 pizzas, 1 glass of white wine and a coke and ended up paying 615 DKK – and that’s simply too much for the overall experience.
Now we've tried it... but that's it!

Great pizza! From base, to choice of ingredients, no wonder it's on the list of best pizza places in the world.
Nice atmosphere and service too.

Yes, paying more than 200kr. for a pizza seems a lot, but the sky high quality is unmatched by any other pizza reataurant in Copenhagen - or even in Denmark - and I've had a few (including Bæst, Fumo, Corsa, Luca, Dal Forno etc.).

Surt is easily one of my favorite pizza spots in Copenhagen. Located in the heart of the historic Carlsberg district (right by the elephants), it offers a world-class experience that manages to be both cozy and incredibly high-quality.
The Magic of the Dough
The founder, Giuseppe Oliva (who helped start Bæst), is a true master. The name "Surt" means "sour" in Danish, referring to their 100% sourdough process with no industrial yeast. The result is a crust that is light, perfectly charred, and much easier to digest than your typical pizza. It’s exactly as good as the hype suggests.
The Ingredients & Authenticity
What makes Surt stand out is the blend of local organic produce and premium Italian imports.
• The Hindsholm Pizza: My absolute favorite. The pork sausage from the Hindsholm pigs is incredible, especially with the fermented chili. I’ve tried several others across many visits, and the quality never slips.
• Authentic Vibe: You can really feel the Italian roots here. Using ingredients sourced directly from Italy makes the flavors feel truly authentic, yet it fits perfectly into the modern, industrial vibe of Carlsberg Byen.
A Couple of "Local" Suggestions
• The Sharing Factor: I love the concept, but I wish they wouldn't "force" the sharing experience quite so much. Sometimes you just want all the pizzas brought to the table at the same time unless asked otherwise!
• Lunch Hours: Honestly, the only other negative is that they aren't open for lunch, why keep this goodness just for the evening? (Haha, but seriously!)

Probably the best pizza I've ever tasted! The pizzas are served one at a time, as they want to make sure they are completely fresh, so we shared two. First they served Hindsholm, which was an explosion of flavor and umami in the mouth, really haven't tried such a complete taste experience on a pizza. Then we tried a Marinara, not as impressive, but you could taste the good ingredients and the fantastic dough more for yourself. Definitely recommended.

While it does sound ridiculous to pay over 200dkk for a pizza, damn is it worth it. It is probably the best pizza I’ve had in Copenhagen, and you’ll surely not find something similar in texture and quality of ingredients at a lower price. So crispy on the outside and soft of the inside. We also tried the Focaccia with Olive oil and Tiramisu as a desert and all that was very tasty too!
The one improvement could be the portion size of the glass of wine. I would rather pay 15, 20dkk extra per glass but at least have a proper glass of wine rather than just a sip. The wine tasted lovely at least.

Amazing pizza and amazing service. The waiters explain the story of the ingredients of the food and are very honest. They went above and beyond and is honestly amplifying the whole experience. If there was anything above 5 stars for the service, i would give it.
