Teddy Bear Art Museum Billund

This used to be the house of Godtfred Kirk Christiansen (LEGO) & his family. It was changed to be the home of a very impressive Teddy Bear collection. You will learn about the history of this much loved toy & collectable. Make sure you met Alfonso, who has a heart rendering story. Afterwards, take a walk around the gardens, which surround the house.

The Teddy Bear Museum provides a very nice and calm counterpoint to the Lego attractions that already tax the senses. The exhibition rooms are in the former villa of Godfred Christiansen and his family - it is very pretty and lovingly displayed and shows many teddy bears of all kinds and from all times. The beautiful, bright cafeteria invites you to linger and relax and serves drinks and small meals. In summer you can sit outside - the surrounding park is also beautiful and worth a walk. In the shop there are teddy bears and building instructions as well as materials for making teddy bears yourself - workshops also take place. There is also a painting and play area for children. Everything is barrier-free including the toilet, cafeteria and garden. The architecture of the villa alone is impressive, the place is very well maintained (including the garden). The staff is friendly and helpful. Flyers with explanations are available in several languages. The visit is highly recommended.🧸

I visited here for about an hour with my young children (ages 5 and under). We had a lovely time and wished we could have stayed longer! The staff were kind, the gift shop charming and the small museum beautifully laid out with signs in English and Danish. My kids loved playing with the large teddy bear dollhouse and bear dress up clothes and the bear puzzles. (There was even a stepstool provided so smaller children could reach the second level of the dollhouse.) A nice feature of the museum is the beautiful open air garden and handicap accessible bathroom (with baby changing table).

A very nice museum with a nice park to relax in. If you like teddy bears, you should definitely plan a visit. There is also a coffee with delicious cakes.

It is a nice place to look around. Many different types of teddies to look at. Nice activity room in the middle for children to do activities. The cafe is nice with lots of seating and is clean and tidy. Staff are really friendly.
