Seated immediately. Asked for the recommended herring, cheese, and snaps. Was not disappointed. 😄

Best smørrebrød in town (even considering the Michelin-starred smørrebrød places). Wide selection of homemade snaps as well.

Super wonderful restaurant where you order your lunch in single pieces of open sandwiches. Has many many kinds of schnapps.

This is unbelievable... It was the most delicious food I had during my two weeks in Europe. I plan to visit again tomorrow.

Came here on a Tuesday for lunch, not realizing what a well-known place this is. I did not have a reservation, but thankfully they had a table available. The tables next to me were put together for what looked like a large group of about 20 older diners, so the restaurant had a geriatric atmosphere. I ordered two sandwiches, steak tartare, snaps, and a beer, which was definitely too much food for one person and I did not manage to finish everything. Both the shrimp and herring sandwiches were great. The steak tartare was not my favourite, but I am glad I tried it. The shrimp sandwich was 159 kr ($35 CAD) which is exceptionally expensive but that is to be expected for Copenhagen.

Everything was fully booked and packed. We went to the Smörebrød across the street. It was excellent and cheaper.

Just so cozy and delicious. What a lovely atmosphere.
