Love this place❤️ Had mine and my wife's wedding here in 2016 & our son's confirmation in 2024

Vi holdt bryllup på Ludvigslyst d. 31.08.2024 og ankom sejlende med Hjejlen - Kira og hendes personale klarede dette arrangement på fantastisk vis, det til trods for "last minute" ændringer. Personalet var imødekommende og vidste hvad de havde med at gøre, der var ikke en finger at sætte på hverken mad, service eller andet. Kira og hendes team sørgede for at vi fik den lækreste menu, og en uforglemmelig aften. Helt klart et sted vi vil anbefale og det er ikke sidste gang vi har været på besøg eller afholdt arrangement der.

Good food, but too elaborate and with a long list of ingredients. Often, less is more. Very kind staff, nice environment.

We have taken the trip to Ludvigslyst quite a few times and had a cup of coffee and cake in the summer months, and would also like to try a lunch there. The place exudes history and gentle restoration - beautiful and stylish in detail, with white tablecloths on the tables and candles - small bouquets of flowers. There is SOO good style and carried out tastefully in the understated way - less is more! We considered the lunch menu, but ended up with Ludviglyst star shot for my viv and I chose Danish island ox tartar. Warm, freshly baked sourdough bread quickly arrived on the table - excellent bread, with really good butter! Water came quickly too. After some time - things are made from scratch, our dishes came to the table. A sumptuously beautiful Ludviglyst shooting star, and tartare of oak beef. The prawns were peeled a`la minute, - large fleshy and very tasty Greenland prawns - beautiful woodpeckers, fried and steamed - with fennel crouditè and warm lemon sauce with herbs, my wife was happy! My tartar was very tasty - nicely decorated and flavored with capers, shallots, Dijon mustard and cognac Tarragon mayonnaise - egg yolk cream - New onions - Crispy potato with vinegar, and a really big portion, without being too violent, but very filling and tasty! A very small complaint was that it was a bit oversalted for my taste, but not too much! We really felt our dishes were something of a bargain for the money. Such high quality - so nice and delicately flavored - a complete meal - we were happy when we got up very satisfied and full and praised the food and service - EVERYTHING played - thank you for that, we will come again soon :) N.B: We each wished a single glass of wine and the selection was very limited. Maybe it could be an idea with more options for a single glass of wine, but the wines tasted fine - so it's only a small parenthesis, and an opened bottle also has to be sold to keep the economy going, so maybe I understand well if you keep it again with to open bottles!

On Sunday afternoon we were wonderfully surprised by the very helpful service. Because Greetje and I cannot read/speak Danish, we asked what they would order to eat here. Well what we got was incredibly fresh and delicious. From fish to chicken and dessert it was truly amazing. Thanks for this ladies! Whether we will come back again... who knows... but we will do it exactly the same again. Kind regards, Jakob. (Our dog got fresh water so it was fine)

Beautiful location, food and service at the top🌞👌

Already at the reception you know it will be a good evening. We had a fantastically lovely evening with tasty dishes that were beautifully arranged and with good organic ingredients. With waiters elegantly ensuring that the dishes arrived at a good pace and presenting each dish, the experience was complete. And when the next table asked about the story behind the place, there was no hesitation in the answer. The place appears well maintained with a very cozy atmosphere. Great view of the lake. Recommended

Vi havde inviteret et par gæster til frokost, og vi skulle have noget ekstra. Nr. 2 i Silkeborg er Ludvigslyst, et supersted på mange fronter - en fantastisk beliggenhed, et godt køkken og virkelig god betjening. Desværre er stjerneskuddet på frokostkortet prissat til uforståelige 280 kr. Et halvt stykke franskbrød var dækket pænt, men til den pris havde vi nok forventet noget mere. Vi følte os lidt snydt.
