Unfortunately, we had to wait quite a while for the waiter, and then for our order. The service wasn't particularly welcoming, unfortunately. However, the oysters were delicious. Although, in my opinion, they were served too simply—an empty, unadorned plate with sauce and lime. I wouldn't go back to this establishment, unfortunately.

Food is average, but maybe that is relative for Copenhagen. Our salads came with zero dressing. Would have mentioned this to the server if she had ever come to ask. Overall the food is average. I’d never come back if I lived here. Again, maybe this is a Copenhagen issue as the food here is underwhelming and expensive.

We opted for the 5-course surprise degustation menu. The food itself had some nice highlights, but the overall pacing, communication, and service left room for improvement. The meal started with a very small first course that felt much more like a light appetizer than a full course. Things got confusing when the next plates arrived; the second and third courses were served together without anyone informing us. Because of this, we were quite surprised when the dessert arrived right after what we thought was only the fourth course. Clearer communication from the staff regarding how the menu was being paced would have easily solved this confusion and made it possible for us to balance the wine. The other dishes included a seafood course and a well-prepared fish course. While the food had potential, the service felt lacking. I have absolutely no issue filling our own wine glasses when a restaurant is busy and rushing around. However, when you are left to pour your own drinks while two waitresses are constantly standing right behind you chatting, it feels inattentive. With a bit more focus on front-of-house communication and proactive service, this could be a much better dining experience.

Really nice to sit in their courtyard, but the food was indifferent as it didn't taste of anything, and they couldn't cook a steak properly. The service was super nice though.

Zeleste's self-description of "fish, food & wine" perfectly captures its essence. We had reserved a table for four in the lovely courtyard for dinner. We all thoroughly enjoyed the excellent food and the atmosphere. The courtyard is beautiful, with some shaded seating, very friendly and attentive service, and top-notch food. For 650 crowns, I had the tasting menu, a four-course surprise menu featuring the finest fish and seafood. See photos. Visually and gastronomically, it was one highlight after another. The chef is a true master of his craft! The price was definitely reasonable for the quality. Anyone looking for a special evening with fine dining and good wine should visit this restaurant! We will gladly return!

Overall Rating: 3.5 / 5 Would I return? No. We had dinner at Zeleste on Saturday, June 6th. Our party of four split our orders: two of us opted for the Tasting Menu, and two ordered *à la carte* from the regular menu. Having dined at high-end establishments worldwide—ranging from Michelin-starred venues to simply excellent local spots—we felt Zeleste has the potential to be a world-class restaurant. However, significant operational gaps severely impacted our experience. Given the expense and our ultimate dissatisfaction, I am breaking this review into three distinct areas: Kitchen Oversight, Service, and Food. Kitchen Oversight: 1 / 5 Stars To me, kitchen oversight encompasses two critical components: managing course timing so an entire table is served together, and strict quality control before plates leave the kitchen. Zeleste failed on both counts. * Pacing & Synchronization: The delivery of our food was entirely unsynchronized. While the two *à la carte* entrees arrived within 3 to 5 minutes of each other, the corresponding tasting menu items didn't appear until nearly 15 minutes later. The gaps between the subsequent tasting courses were agonizingly long, culminating in about 30-minute wait just for the main course to arrive after the previous plates were cleared. * Quality Control: The main course was cod. When the plates arrived, one portion of fish was roughly half the size of the other. It is baffling how a discrepancy that glaring managed to leave the kitchen. **Service: 3 / 5 Stars Service can be difficult to judge objectively, as front-of-house staff can only serve what the kitchen prepares, when they prepare it. However, a few distinct oversights stood out: * Attentiveness: Two guests at our table finished their wine, yet no one ever approached to ask if they would care for another glass. Additionally, while we noticed other tables receiving bread, none was ever offered to us. * Problem Resolution: When we pointed out the massive discrepancy in the cod portion sizes, the staff acted as though they didn't understand the issue. While a language barrier is possible, it resulted in a lack of acknowledgment or correction. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt with a 3-star rating here, but the execution was lacking. The Food: 4 / 5 Stars The saving grace of the evening was the food itself, which was excellent. The flavors, execution, and culinary concepts were strong across both the tasting and regular menus. The kitchen clearly possesses immense talent; it is simply being let down by logistics. **Final Thoughts** I rarely write negative reviews, but given the price point, the execution fell far short of expectations. I hope Zeleste’s management reads this and evaluates their kitchen procedures. The food proves they have the capability to be a top-tier dining destination, but the lack of synchronization and quality control prevents it from being the world-class experience it should be.

Excellent restaurant in the centre of Copenhagen. We walked in without a reservation and were met by very friendly and professional staff. Atmosphere, table setting, location and food were excellent! We will be back next time we are in Copenhagen.
