A Hereford Beefstouw , Copenhagen After a long day exploring Copenhagen on our last night, we decided to treat ourselves to a meal at A Hereford Beefstouw, a steakhouse located by Tivoli Market. Arriving around 5 pm, we were starving and ready for what we thought would be a high-end dining experience. The ambiance didn’t quite scream “luxury,” with no noticeable dress code, and the service felt rushed. The waitstaff seemed overwhelmed, and we were warned it might take 10–15 minutes just to order drinks. We settled on the house red wine (315 kr / £35), as the rest of the wine list started at £70+. The wine was fine but nothing special. Starters: • I had the beef tartar (95 kr / £10.50), a delicious blend of flavors with egg yolk, tarragon mayo, beetroot, and cress. Highly recommend this dish! • My dad chose the lobster bisque (125 kr / £14), served with scallop, pickled apples, and fried capers. He also enjoyed it. Mains: We all opted for steak, the highlight of the meal. • The sirloin steak (250g) (225 kr / £25) was cooked perfectly across the board. • My dad’s ribeye (275g) (295 kr / £32), while tasty and well-cooked, was disappointingly small for the price. Sides & Sauces: Sides are ordered separately, and this is where things went downhill. • My potatoes with chestnuts (45 kr / £5) arrived cold, while the fries my parents and Tim ordered were warm and crispy. • The roast carrots with rosemary and yogurt (45 kr / £5) were flavorful but freezing cold, as if they’d been sitting out too long. • The extra sauce - garlic butter (25 kr / £2.75), which was divine. Overall: While the steaks and starters were excellent, the service was slow, the sides were a letdown, and the prices felt unjustified for the overall experience. We couldn’t help but think about how much better value we could get at restaurants back home in the UK. That said, Copenhagen is known for being an expensive city, and this restaurant certainly reflects that. If you’re craving steak in the heart of the city, it’s a good option, but don’t expect perfection or exceptional value for money.

We‘ve had delicious food. Very tasty. From starters like tuna and smoked salmon via the main course steak wirth truffle fries and the dessert. Tasty. Nice staff.

We had a great time here, not least because of Mr. Dietmar's extremely charming and courteous service. Thank you!

Only one steak on the menu for lunch. At night they have 2 😏

Visited the location December 19, and found that their salad bar was gone. Too bad. I ordered striplion steak, Bearnaise, fries and Salad. For dessert cheese. The food was delicious, but the salad was uninteresting as it consisted of heart salad, with a little dressing, and some seeds. When I got the cheese, the waiter was not observant that I was missing cutlery and we took a set from another table. They get 3 stars for what they succeeded, and 2 are deducted because of the boring salad and the lack of cutlery.

I forhold til prisen, var det den værste gang jeg nogensinde har oplevet på "A Hereford Beefstouw". God betjening, men min Rib Eye var mere sej end jeg nogensinde før har oplevet. Trist og ikke det jeg vælger at bruge mine penge næste gang.

Very nice place! Good atmosphere. Fantastic service!👌 if you are in the area and want a good steak, you should make the trip. We had one child with us and there was no problem. Own children's menu in a drawing pad. All in all - an absolutely fantastic place🤩

Good food, I recommend the entrecôte, and we had a server who does well in French which makes exchanges easier.

Buen recurso si estás por la zona y quieres huir de cadenas de comida rápida! El local está especializado en carnes y pides el acompañamiento aparte. La calidad de la comida es correcta y el precio parece elevado si lo comparas en España! El local es acogedor y el personal atento y profesional!

There are many, many restaurants in this part of Copenhagen, close to Tivoli Gardens. Unfortunately most offer a very similar and limited range of options and all are expensive. This particular restaurant serves mainly steaks plus some fish and other dishes. It is pricey but the food and service are both good. Would definitely return.
