We wanted to try a Michelin Star eatery on arrival in Copenhagen and selected this as we could make a reservation three weeks in advance, for planning purposes.
Foodwise, it was mainly hits. We opted for the tasting menu but, on highsight, there were just too many dishes even if they were relatively small. The breads were okay but the overwhelming favourite was the rye with pumpkin and sunflower seeds.
There were some tapas like dishes with potato croquettes, some small tarts with crab fillings, and waffles with beef tartare, as well as focaccia bread with butter and hummus. Some
of us did not fully like some dishes here.
There were also sliced meats in the charcuterie platter, as well as pieces of Char fish in a milk emulsion which were quite nice.
We liked the grilled pork mains, which were cooked well and still soft. The lamb main dish was also tasty and fork tender, and delish with the spinach.
Their wines are relatively on the pricey side. The reisling we ordered was on the younger side and slightly vinegary and we did not finish it.
Dessert of choux cream was okay. One of our party wanted a non sugar dessert and they provided a small cheese platter.
Service was okay and was efficient and relatively quick. You need to hang your jackets in the anteroom where the toilets are located, but need to do a search when you leave as the jackets may be swamped and hidden by the jackets of other guests.

Just before travelling back to France, I had lunch in this Nice restaurant. I was Lucky to have spacieux as you need to reserve before... Lucky bécasse it was very good proposals, fresh, tasty... Di not hesitate to go ...

A different approach to the traditional danish "smørrebrød"'! The dishes i tried was from presentation and quality/favour exceptionel!
Service was always there at the right momentan and was just "in the right mood" Perfect!
Ambience was there - i guess modern scandinavian - was the supportive background to the food in front of you!
All in all ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

🇩🇰 The best Smørrebrød in all of Denmark! A care for excellent ingredients and presentation of the dish. Yummy! There are something for all tastes and with different breads, from the classic black to others. They are absolutely worth trying. Book otherwise there is no room, you can do it easily from here on Google

When reading about 1921, I couldn't imagine how the "simple" smorbrod could win such praise. " Come on, it's just an open face sandwich". I am now eating my words. The food here is magic, far and away above "simple". Creative, delicious, dynamic flavors. Combinations that knock your socks off. From the smorbrod to desserts, talent oozes and diners are lucky. Even the espresso is memborable (and a must).
As foodies, living in Paris, it made me look at food through a fresh , new and creative lens. To take a national "dish" to these heights should be the challenge for any chef.
Thanks to Aamanns 1921 for one of our best food memories. At age 76 , and many meals, I hope this is a compliment.
One more added delight. Veronica, our waitress, was absolutely wonderful, if not completely adorable. Warm, helpful and with a terrific sense of humor. The service she provided was a cherry on top of a remarkable eating experience.
