Alexanders Bistro København

We visited Alexandre and had bought an Early Bird experience. The menu was Jerusalem artichoke soup with dried root vegetable chips, main course confit duck leg with red cabbage, French fries and sauce and for dessert delicious ice cream from Beier. The soup was very delicious, but a little on the heavy side as a starter for duck. The portion felt large. The main course was tasty, but the red cabbage a little on the salty side. The bread was not super delicious, but whipped butter was great. Personally, I didn't think the French fries fit the meal as it was all too greasy and heavy. My enjoyment of the meal would have been greatly increased if it had been possible to get potatoes with the dish instead. The red wine sauce was exquisite. We got a lovely portion of ice cream from Beier. The service was sincere and very friendly. We waited a bit long for the main course and we sat right under a speaker, which I didn't like. But in general the restaurant is very cozy!

I went to Alexander’s Bistro using the Early Bird offer – three courses for around 260 kroner – and it was honestly a really good deal. The starter was a souæ, and it was absolutely delicious. Definitely a 5/5. The flavour was deep and rich. For the main course we had confit de canard. It was fine, but the duck itself could have had more flavour, and the fries felt a bit out of place for this kind of dish. Also they were kind of dry. We did get a few different sauces and dips, which helped make up for the lack of seasoning in the duck. For dessert we got Peter Beier ice cream, which is always nice. One thing that annoyed me a lot was that I had to pay same for cocktail without alcohol as one with alcohol. 135 kr for a drink with passion fruit sirup and no alkohol is insane. They didn't put the non alcohol prices on the menu but I assumed that it would be cheaper (because thats how it usually is). Overall, it’s a nice restaurant with a cosy atmosphere and a great location. The Early Bird offer was genuinely good value for money, but I’m not sure I’d come back again, simply because the food didn’t feel memorable enough (except for the soup).

Always a pleasure to eat at Alexander’s Bistro. The food is top quality and the service is the same.

Delicious food, with good large portions. Unfortunately the acoustics are poor, and it was sometimes difficult to hear what was being said. Nice waiters, but it took about 35 minutes before they brought our desert.
