We have just come back from the most wonderful experience at Ancestrale. We just stumbled across this beautiful wine bar on our way back from dinner in Vesterbro and were immediately drawn by the cosy atmosphere inside. The staff were wonderful - our waitress was highly knowledgeable and very friendly and welcoming. The interior was cosy and intimate, just what you need on a cold evening. We had a beautiful natural red wine by Nathalie Banes, another aspect that made this experience extra special - is that they try to stock many small independent producers. I would highly recommend this bar to anyone. The only critique I could give is that it would have been nice if there were some little complementary nibbles on the table to eat with our wine. However, overall a beautiful experience

They have a strict concept of local fish and veg in season. The current chef with no professional training is a master of textures and flavours. The wine selection is very carefully curated. 5 servings and accompanying wines will set you back 900 dkk, which is a bargain for the level of deliciousness you get! Cosy place too.
