Anyone who has decided to have dinner at “Gro Spiseri” is in for a treat!
It's a special gastronomic concept that is located on a roof in Copenhagen's Østerbro district.
The roof garden with a greenhouse can be reached via a steep spiral staircase or with the freight elevator. Here you will spend the evening at a long table in a group of up to a maximum of 25 people.
It is actually "quite cozy" and may not be right for guests who want to spend an undisturbed evening for two.
During our visit, the guests came from Sweden, Norway, Canada and the USA, among others, so a little knowledge of English is an advantage.
But now to the most important thing!
The food and service are absolutely great.
Each of the 5 courses was a great taste experience, mostly fantastically prepared from simple, home-grown ingredients and we have rarely experienced such attentive and loving service.
On our evening, Magda was a true hostess, whose effort went above and beyond the usual!
We will definitely come back in the summer.

Really a fun place. Sweet and entertaining staff. Good good food and beer/wine as well as juice menu, which I got. (had to drive) We were 4 people who sat at a long table with others. Really cozy and good concept 💪👍

In the Østerbro district there is an urban farm and the small restaurant “Gro Spiseri” on the roof of a building. While chickens flock outside and vegetables grow, I enjoy the menu that changes with the seasons at a long table. There is also “Ukrud” – a lemonade whose name translates as “weed”.

A spectacular gastronomic experience. The menu is a surprise, but everything was delicious and they are very original dishes, with seasonal organic ingredients straight from their garden or from local Danish producers. The mixtures of flavors and textures are a delight. The staff is very friendly and the greenhouse is decorated very cute. There is only one long shared table, but there is plenty of space and it is a very pleasant experience. I thought it was a very cool concept and I would repeat it without hesitation.

One of our favourite restaurants in Copenhagen. They have different chefs each time and a new set menu. Always high quality food and service. Great roof top hangout in the summer in the urban farm.

Dette sted har en særlig "Lille Virgil"-vibe, som er ret skøn, og man bliver glad af at komme op på et af byens tage og se, hvad man kan skabe sådan et sted med masser af grønt, høns og det hyggeligste drivhus midt i det hele. På en råkold dag, var det dejligt at komme indenfor, hvor den lille brændeovn varmede drivhuset op, og hvor bordet var dækket smukt op til brunch. Alt hvad vi fik serveret var virkelig godt og smagte dejligt, men det er simpelthen for dyrt for så lidt! Vi kunne næsten ikke blive mætte af det, vi fik serveret, og alt var anrettet på forhånd i meget små portioner. Indimellem kom serveringen rundt med en brødkurv og termokander, men man følte nærmest, at man ikke rigtig skulle spise for meget. Stil nu bare brød og kaffe og ekstra tilbehør frem på bordene. Med den pris, man betaler for at spise her, er portionerne simpelthen for små! Det er et virkelig dejligt sted og en lille perle midt i byen, så det er super ærgerligt, at man skal føle sig lidt snydt, når man går derfra.

This was an interesting dining experience! I recommend it for novelty and ethical eating. It was very expensive in the end, so beware the wine prices!

Excellent, unique experience. Sunday breakfast was very simple and perfectly executed. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Copenhagen. This place deserves higher than a 4.4 rating from Google imho:)

De locatie is uniek, en dat is een groot pluspunt. Om te eten in een kas op een dakterras is natuurlijk een geweldige ervaring en dat hebben ze leuk aangekleed.
Je zit met z’n alle aan 1 grote tafel, wat ik persoonlijk iets te krap vond, maar was wel anders dan anders.
Het eten vond ik matig, vooral rekening houdend met de prijs. We waren met z’n 2en 300 euro kwijt en prijs/kwaliteit is hier volledig zoek. Was het gewoon niet waard. De bediening is leuk en attent en gaf goed wijnadvies.
Ander minpunt vond ik dat we om 20:30 startte, en om 22:30 werd aangekondigd dat de avond voorbij was en dat ze met iedereen gingen afrekenen. Geen koffie, niet kunnen naborrelen, niks. Voor een prijs van 300 euro verwacht ik dat je een hele avond uitgebreid kan tafelen, en niet na 2 (!) uur de deur wordt uitgezet. Bizar.
