Good sandwiches at a good price but above all very friendly staff. A bit rough environment, as it should be at a beer bar in Helsingör.

Got pretty drunk so it must have been a good night. Not the next day though as their drinks gave me a serious hangover 🤣😂

Reluctantly visiting Axelhus once again. Not to taint the memory of this once iconic dive bar … but the atmosphere is no more. Gone are downing “sets” in a cigarette smoke filled room, locals on piano and guitar, and unspecified open sandwiches. On the positive side, the taps now feature To Øl and the menu has expanded a bit beyond the smørrebrød. The sister bar - Axelbar is even better from a beer perspective. To Øl on tap, and in the fridge, alongside Brew York. The town is going through changes. It’s inevitable.

We did not have food but they do some snacks, including scratchings. They do music Friday & Saturdays.

San Remo

16/03/2026: We treated ourselves to potato soup with bacon – the soup of the day. Very tasty, well-seasoned, and homemade.
22/12/2025: I had a most pleasant, and peaceful experience at this beautiful Cafe San Remo in Helsingor / Elsinor. I found this lovely, and cozzy cafe as I walked in the Old Town. I had a delicious fried eggs, with bacon and potatoes. The food was super yummie! The servers were very proper, courteous, with a grand genuine smile, and a lovely disposition. It all fill me up with optimism, and with joy. I will return. It is a very easy train ride from Copenhagen. Kudos to Cafe San Remo, the Chef, and all the beautiful ladies that work there. BRAVO ZULU! I am a US Army Retired Soldier. I live in Spain, and travel as much as possible. V/r "Peter"
