Good selection, cozy environment and solid quality. A place with both character and charm.

Cozy atmosphere and really good Nordic food. A place I would like to visit again.

Beautiful restaurant; much like being inside a rugged old cottage with beams. I booked for one and was sat on the community table; which turned out to be the nicer bit about the evening, getting to talk to others who were visiting Copenhagen as well. I went with the set menu. The food was good, perhaps new cuisine for me, but nothing mind-blowing or to write home about. At this price point (~€160), I do expect to dream and salivate about my food for a week afterwards.

Location, a warm welcome and great service and food is great

Food, atmosphere and service were all excellent but I am not sure it's value for money for the price you have to pay. If you order the schnitzel you get a Schnitzel Wiener Art not a Wiener Schnitzel and you just get it thrown on a plate ... No sides, no love. Also they kindly always bring new bottles of water and you find out afterwards that they come with a hefty price. I have been here the second time with the family and that was my last.

A beautifully decorated space tucked in by the water. Our server Emily was fabulous and attentive. I enjoyed the schnitzel and the orange wine on the menu. Great oysters and bread as well.

The reservation was made some time ago by phone in our friend's name. Unfortunately, our email address was apparently recorded incorrectly, so we didn't receive a confirmation and initially found no table available upon our arrival. A phone call would certainly have been helpful in this situation. However, the staff went out of their way to find a solution and offered us a table for 1.5 hours. As a kind gesture, they even treated each of us to a free beer. We'd like to thank them for that. Nevertheless, we ultimately decided to eat elsewhere. Overall, the service was friendly, even if the reservation process could be improved.

We had the lunch menu at Barr. The food was good overall, but not impressive for the price tag, and the restaurant is cosy, with adequate space between the tables. The service, however, was disappointing. Our waiter appeared uninterested, did not introduce the dishes, and seemed to know very little about the wines. More attentive and knowledgeable service would greatly improve the experience. As for the food: - The herring was really good. - The Wiener schnitzel was good. - The dessert was decent, but both the strawberries and the ice cream were lacking in flavour. Overall, a pleasant lunch, but let down by indifferent service.

The best meal I had during my trip to Copenhagen, and one I’ll be thinking about for a long time. Barr strikes the perfect balance between refined and welcoming. The space is stunning without feeling stuffy, and its location along the waterfront makes it even more special. The flow between the outdoor seating and the dining room gives the whole restaurant an energy that feels lively and communal. It immediately felt like a place where people wanted to linger over a great meal. I started with the bread service and the savory brown butter waffle with roe dip. If you’re on the fence, order the waffle. The combination of the nutty brown butter, crisp waffle, and rich roe dip was one of the standout bites of my entire trip. For my main, I had the schnitzel with the truffle addition, along with the asparagus. The schnitzel was everything you hope for: perfectly crisp, juicy, and elevated by the truffle. The asparagus was a reminder that simple, seasonal ingredients can be just as memorable when they’re treated with care. Dessert was Danish strawberries with strawberry ice cream and a drizzle of strawberry oil. It was vibrant, light, and the ideal ending to the meal. Every component tasted intensely of fresh strawberries without being overly sweet. From the food to the service to the atmosphere, Barr absolutely delivered. Copenhagen has no shortage of incredible restaurants, but this was the meal that stayed with me the most. If I return to the city, Barr will be my first reservation.
