My mother and I were here on a boring weekday afternoon (wind and sleet and cold! - boring) last week and it was a fantastic cozy little café! Cozy and decorated for Christmas and a super nice view of the canal with snow and Christmas lights (which can only help). The music was classical and calm Christmas music - maybe a little too loud, but luckily there was only us and one other table with guests at the other end, so we could talk without having to shout. We were greeted at the door by a super sweet and positive young guy (and, I think, maybe a new employee), who really did something good for the experience, by being happy and welcoming the whole way through. We ordered freshly squeezed juice, and I asked if it was possible to adjust the contents of mine - which he clearly had doubts about, but promised to ask about (and also came back with :) ). As a general rule, I actually prefer not to talk to other people more than absolutely necessary when I'm out with someone, and he did a good job - nice, polite small talk upon arrival, ordering, serving, etc., and not all the extras, and just generally an awesome charisma. He really deserves praise from here, and honestly deserves all the stars of the review on his own. As I said, we got freshly squeezed juice - not the biggest glass, and definitely on the expensive side, but it was delicious! To eat, we got fish and chips, bought through a Downtown offer. The food was really delicious for a café fish and chips - especially points for some large coarse fries and a good little salad - and the grilled, sweet lemon! Yum. The fish itself was also really delicious - some rather small pieces (especially for the price - and that even WITH the offer), but there was still plenty of food for a late lunch. A salt(+pepper) on the tables (possibly put out only when you sit down) would not have done anything, but it's a very small detail. The café is also relatively easy to get to by public transport, with only a few minutes walk from a bus stop, along the canal and the little "beach" they have out there. All in all, a really good experience that we enjoyed a lot. The things I mentioned above were really in the small things department, and nothing that bothered the overall impression. Clear recommendation from here.

The place was very busy when we got there. We had a reservation and that speed up the process. It is overpriced and the plates are really small and could be much better tasting. There are a lot of things to improve as of the quality of service, better tasting food and the amount of people that can fit so it can be a comfortable and nice experience.

We had wonderful brunch here. Everything was very good. I recommend the immune booster drink, it was so good!

Had a dinner in this place recently - we ordered two of their signature burgers and some refreshments. I can say that the burgers were one of the best we have eaten in a long while - and the portion was really big, including potatoes and dips. Lots of flavour inside. The location is also quite nice - if you sit outside. They also provide some boardgames. The personnel was really nice. Minus points for the cleaning - the tables were cleaned relatively slow and the bathrooms could use a bit more care. Lastly, the service was a bit slow. All the minuses seem to appear from an understaffing issue rather than lack of professionalism - we also visited on a sunny Saturday 😊. So maybe an extra employee on the weekends when it’s nice and sunny could solve all of them. Either way - would definitely come back
