Elmely Kro Holbæk

Lovely place in the most beautiful rural surroundings. The best Parisian steak I have had in several years, served by a present and competent waiter named Mathilde. The atmosphere and decor is relaxed and cozy. Definitely worth a visit!

Thanks to Elmely for some lovely hours 🥰 Many thanks Poul and Co. I've always had high expectations when I've visited some of the "old Suri boys' restaurants" (that's what we old boys call them), it's hard not to have when you've visited and tasted fantastic dishes over the years and always received sublime service. From my first experience in the late 90s at Linden, to a Christmas lunch, with everything homemade, and with skittles and beer afterwards. Suri in the 00s, with the 5 dishes and the most delicious specialities, always spiced up with a delicious wine menu, where they were always poured, and you got a complete experience, and left after a trip on the soft sofas with delicious coffee, Cuban cigar, and cognac from 1947, happy and exhilarated, with more courage for life. Elmely and Skomagerkroen, both as guests, food from the house, various port wine tastings, etc., it's always a pleasure. It's hard, really hard to put a lid on expectations when Poul is involved 🤩 Come back to the present 🙂 Once again a lovely and successful evening, with snacks and a gin Hass modified with the most delicious homemade blackcurrant juice. 5 fantastic dishes, where you never doubt the professional pride that characterizes everyone at the inn, a really good atmosphere among the staff, with really good communication, they all knew where each other was 😊 it was wonderful to witness 😍 Thank you all so much, we look forward to the next time 🥰 Keep up the amazing spirit, you make it fantastic and authentic ❤️ Pat yourselves and each other on the back, you really deserve it 😊 You've done it again. Review of Elmely kro We visited the Elmely inn with the expectation of a pleasant evening with good food and a relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately, the experience was marked by several unfortunate episodes, which significantly reduced the overall impression. On arrival we chose the restaurant's offer of "snack for drinks" for DKK 99. It appeared as a total price, but turned out to be per person. For two people we were thus charged DKK 198. for a modest quantity of almonds, chips and pork rinds – a price that was in no way commensurate with the contents. In addition, we were served extra water, which we subsequently had to pay for, without this being announced in advance. The menu itself consisted of five dishes, which were well prepared in terms of taste. Unfortunately, the overall experience was ruined by a sharp piece of plastic in the soup, and later a plastic string in the main course. This is unacceptable as it detracts from what should be a lovely experience. The food had potential, but the lack of transparency in the prices and serious flaws in the food, left us feeling ripped off. Unfortunately, this is not a place we will return to.

Got the big Christmas menu, it was really nice food and in plenty and wonderful with a cold beer and homemade schnapps 🎄😋

The waiters were top class, it wasn't the chef🤨

It's going to be a bit of a mixed bag with this review. Let's start with the drag. My girlfriend had booked a table at Elmely Kro on my birthday because they have wiener schnitzel (my meal) and specifically wrote it in the booking 1 month before that we should have wiener schnitzel and prime burger, they obviously ask that you inform us. When we arrive on the day, we are greeted by a very arrogant and unfriendly waiter who informs us that this evening they only serve a Sunday dining as an option. Had we known that we would have booked somewhere else, there was no info about it or contact from their side. The waiter was so unpleasant and really flabby for the rest of the evening (and no, we hadn't made up, but of course expressed that it was bad customer service not to inform about this). But despite a terribly poor service from the waiter, we chose to stay and taste their Sunday dining menu, as it was late and we were hungry. And the chef gets all the praise we can muster, the food simply tasted so good, so if nothing else, it was worth all the trouble. Both the starter and the main course melted and created fireworks in the mouth. Can really recommend their pork jowls. And then the inn itself is cozy and atmospheric. Please book a table in advance, but don't expect to be able to get the food you expect.
