Elmely Kro Holbæk

Held my 30th anniversary dinner there last Thursday, it was really good, good food, good service, highly recommended 👍

The old owner has bought it back and is in the process of making the place nice. The same owner as Skomagerkroen, which I can also heartily recommend. The waiters looked after us and the food was really well prepared. They have preserved the inn atmosphere with old pictures and porcelain figurines. We will definitely come again

We sat a bit unluckily, right by the entrance, so it dragged and there was quite a bit of unrest. The wardrobe is in the basement, which is a problem when you have poor walking. Otherwise quite cozy in newly renovated premises. The food was ok but nothing more. Sweet and smiling service.

In 2018 Poul sold Elmely, and thereafter the Inn has not served a great meal until Friday 1st March. Finally, it is again possible to enjoy really wonderful food at Elmely Kro (Inn) located north of Ugerloese on the road between Holbaek and Soroe. Poul is back! Oh, what a joy! The rooms are careful redecorated and they are open and inviting "Come, enjoy your meal", the rooms tell the guests. Upon entering the Inn the guests are welcomed by honestly smiling hosts and you feel welcomed. The wine and beer list is not extreme, but with a decent assortment of wine and beer including a range of different non-alcoholic beer. Two from our party enjoyed a really great Sauvignon 2022 from Loire and the last two (our drivers) enjoyed non-alcoholic beer. To the dessert the Inn offered either a non-specified dessert wine or a port. The latter was tested and it was just GOOD. Testing the Inn we had to try their starter. Unfortunately, for the readers we choose the same starter. A really delicious dish made from various types of cabbages served with a foam of cheese. The Inn offer mainly meat dishes as main course, but there are vegetarian as well as fish dishes. We tried four different meat dishes. Everything was just perfectly prepared, whether the rib eye or the burger. The burger was made with thin slices of beef instead of the standard ground meat. The beef comes from a local farmer and it was incredible tender. It melted in your mouth. Two different desserts or a plate of cheese to finish the meal. Again local food and just wonderful. Our party was all just so happy for the food and service and for sure we are back soon.

A culinary gem has been resurrected! After more than five years of culinary desert wandering, Elmely Kro is north of Ugerløse between Holbæk and Sorø under Poul's management. What a joy! The premises have been carefully and thoughtfully renovated and appear extremely inviting. The guests are received with a genuine smile and you feel welcome and Poul watches over everything. We came on the reopening night and everything was just great. The drink card is not large; but there is room for a number of different beers incl. a wide range of alcohol-free. There was also a sufficiently wide range of wine, so two of the party enjoyed a nice fresh Sauvignon 2022 from the Loire and the other two a couple of different non-alcoholic beers. For dessert, you could choose an unspecified dessert wine or a single port wine. The last one was just GOOD. The starter was an unbelievably delicious cabbage dish. Just the right size and with a wonderful foam of western cheese. For the main course we enjoyed four different meat dishes. Everything was well prepared and extremely tasty. The meat, which comes from local cattle, melted on the tongue. The dessert menu was superb! We tested three different incl. a cheese plate and it was just heavenly. In addition, GOOD coffee. The company just agreed that we will be back soon. Yummy. All in all, a gem where good food can be enjoyed.

Really delicious first opening day. Extremely good food, well prepared and the flavor composition was well thought out. Sweet and welcoming staff. Some acoustic challenges where we sat, but that can probably be solved quickly. Definitely worth a visit!
