Franks Kro. I’ve actually been here before, back when the place was called something else, and I think it’s quite funny that every time I’m here, a lot of alcohol somehow ends up being involved. That probably has something to do with the fact that I was here with a colleague of mine who’s a chef and who knows the owners, so I was nicely introduced.
This place is all about classic Danish food. The good old dishes you know — Wiener schnitzel, stegt flæsk, plenty of pork, and lots of beer. Proper grandmother-style cooking, and man, it’s so good. The food is just genuinely delicious. All the good principles of traditional Danish cooking are right here.
If you’re ever in the mood for proper, old-fashioned Danish food in Copenhagen, this is where you go. Not only is the food great, but the service is also top-notch. The staff are funny, welcoming, and know how to take care of their guests. You can tell they actually enjoy what they do.
The interior matches the vibe perfectly — cozy, homey, full of character. The decorations make it feel like a proper kro, in the best way possible. Beer is flowing, the stegt flæsk is crispy, the sauces are rich, and the whole atmosphere is just wonderful.
All in all, a really great experience.

wonderful time was spent here with my wife. we are out of towners but felt all the hospitality we could have asked for. the wait staff was fantastic and kind, the beer was massive and fresh, and the food was so filling it’s criminal. some options were all that you can eat and it was honestly crazy to think i could eat more than what i was served. deffo recomend

Host and traditional high class food and craftsmanship. 10 hearts and an extra for charm, a twinkle in the eye and love for the profession and the guest.

With a small menu, they can put effort into making the dishes really delicious, and they succeed.

Great typical Danish Frokost and aftensmad place. The set 3 or 4 courses Menues are of great quality and of humongous proportion. Some of the best Flæskesteg (pork belly crackle) in town. Very decent value for money. Not very touristy and pretty cosy. You will definitely need a snaps afterwards and in between. The all in drinks option is a pretty tempting option. Booking highly recommended. Do not rely on the waiting list.

BEWARE TOURIST UPCHARGE. When we saw the bill there was a warning that there was a 10% surcharge and asked us to accept/reject. So we rejected it and the friendly waiter came by and I saw him reenter the transaction and manually add the 10% surcharge and tell us it was a bank transaction fee (even though it was on the reader before we even tapped our card and I know my card does not have foreign transaction fees). Regardless food was decent and staff were friendly besides that incident

Best Danish food in Copenhagen - and the very best service: totally present and no waiters with a blank look in their eyes. Love going there.

There is nothing to fault here. Attentive, smiling and very friendly staff.
The food is in a chapter of its own. I have never had roast pork that tasted so good. Perfectly cooked and the meat had a completely unique taste. Not just salted as usual. Juicy and tender. Potatoes, gravy and beetroot were also in a class of their own.
The place is a time capsule that oozes grandma's atmosphere and the good old days.
Thanks to Frank and Co for a lovely experience. 😊
