Griffen Spa Hotel Bornholm

A nice place with a decent spa. I was missing a warmer water option and I'm fairly sure the massages were unavailable around the new year period

Absolutely fantastic stay!! We are completely blown away by everything from the unbeatable service to the food, the room and the spa facilities. They really care about their guests. We have visited several spa places on Zealand and this place is the best. We can't recommend the place enough! I was sold on their steak sandwich for lunch on day one and it only got better from there.

It's definitely the staff and the food that give Griffen stars. The rooms are not much to write about, really standard. However, the beds were soft as butter in the summer sun. I actually considered lying down on the floor, on a top mattress. The staff is welcoming, the smiles and it actually looks like they enjoy their work, they are at least good at it. The breakfast buffet is really delicious, just a shame that you get full too quickly. Huge parking lot, so you don't have to worry about parking. So four stars from here, but they are for the staff and the food excluded.

Nice hotel, good location and friendly service

A truly beautiful hotel. We had a room with a sea view, which looked exactly like the picture on the website. From the bed, guests have a clear sea view across the entire width of the room. The street in front of the hotel didn't bother us. The spa area was also fantastic, with a lovely ambiance and small, healthy snacks and a good selection of drinks. The breakfast deserves a special mention; it was fantastic, with everything a guest could need and, of course, with a sea view. Here, too, we noticed that they pay attention to healthy food. For us, this hotel was a perfect end to our Bornholm hike. It wasn't exactly cheap, but it was worth the price. The staff were super friendly in all areas.

Very good location, right next to the ferry and easily accessible to the rooms. The staff was friendly and accommodating, which was a positive. Unfortunately, the condition of the rooms does not meet the standards of this hotel category: stained carpet, paint residue on the windows, a dirty and loose shower lip, and unevenly painted walls. The refrigerator was so loud that we had to unplug it to sleep. The breakfast buffet was disappointing, with little choice and no fresh fruit. Furthermore, the men's restroom was already dirty at breakfast at 6:30 a.m., and the trash can was full. It should have been cleaned before breakfast. The spa area is only accessible to those aged 16 and over, which was not stated anywhere beforehand. We ate out because of the high restaurant prices. Overall: great location and friendly staff, but not good value for money.

One of the few hotels with a wellness area on the island. Top location with a sea view, like a cruise ship. City center within walking distance. Free bicycles. Very well-equipped wellness area and excellent opening hours (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.). Very good toiletries. The following points could be improved: Poor English skills at reception, excursion tips and information also poor. Breakfast was generally good, but tables weren't set (you have to make them yourself), glasses were dirty and very worn, coffee was served from capsules and plastic cups (that's not modern, is it?!). Scrambled eggs were made from whole eggs, no table service, everything was from the buffet. A general note on cleanliness: all the windows were very dirty, and there were sometimes large piles of pigeon/seagull droppings in front of the windows – unacceptable in this price range! We caught the cleaning staff several times having coffee together, so there's still room for cleaning the windows...

Spacious rooms, good food, fair prices, beautiful spa and very friendly staff

Always nice to visit Griffen, the staff are nice and welcoming, always with a smile and if there is anything they are happy to help. The food is super delicious and the service is top notch. Spa and wellness are the heart of it, and here you really feel the peace and relaxation. It is definitely worth a visit.

Beautifully situated hotel with a view of the sea and the marine
