A slightly mixed experience at Guldkroen I've visited Guldkroen for lunch a few times, and the location is definitely appealing. The inn is centrally located and has a lovely terrace with a view of the Little Belt, which is a big plus, especially on a sunny day. Remember to book a table in advance, because it's usually completely full for lunch. This time was no exception — there were many guests, and the atmosphere was lively. The service was actually quite good, considering how busy it was. The three waiters ran fast, but maintained a polite level and managed who was waiting for what. Unfortunately, it was especially the waiting time and the food itself that let the experience down. It took almost an hour before our food arrived on the table, and it felt like the kitchen was under tremendous pressure. I had chosen a fish platter for 190 kr., which sounded promising on the menu, but disappointed in reality. The herring was nice, but the rest felt a bit small and uninspired: a halved fish fillet that just covered the bread, and a piece of smoked eel that barely did. The taste was okay, but the dish seemed tacky and definitely not worth the money. All in all, I'm left with a slightly lukewarm feeling. Guldkroen certainly has potential with its location and cozy inn atmosphere, but the cuisine and price level don't match the quality of the plate — and the wait doesn't make it any better. My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ – 3 out of 5. Nice place to sit, nice service, but a long wait and a disappointing fish platter drag down the overall impression.

Delicious lunch, smørrebrød with fish and meat. Snaps on the side. Perfect! Friendly staff.

My friend and I had a wonderful lunch on the road trip towards Frederikshavn. We were so lucky with the weather that we could sit and enjoy the sun while sitting outside. All the staff were smiling and welcoming, so lovely. The gold crown is a beautiful gem and worth a visit for traditional Danish smørrebrød.

Vi fik en rigtig dejlig smørrebrødsbuffet med fisk som tema. Der var som altid god og hyggelig stemning i lokalet og betjeningen var venlig og høflig

Super cozy inn with checkered tablecloth on the table 😉 Great view 👀service which is top notch 🙏 Smørrebrød is what you can get, it's fine but something better rye bread is needed 🤔 for it to match the whole thing 🧐 But the lunch was good and I would like to come again
