We tried salmon, fish cake and eggs& shrimps. Ingredients are quite fresh, bread is nice. In a sunny day in the food market, enjoyable for a quick lunch option.

Informal experience to be had. We did have a platter with 4 fish and 3 salads plus white wine and it was fantastic. So fresh. Busy place and a great place to grab something to eat quick.

The open sandwich is a must-try in Denmark! While it was served cold and the bread was a bit hard, the overall experience was quite enjoyable. It’s a unique and iconic dish, and a very good first introduction to this Danish specialty. Definitely worth a try if you're in the country

Hallernes Smørrebrød is a stand that serves Danish open faced sandwiches.
My family loves this place and visited three times in the week we were in Copenhagen. All the smørrebrød were so delicious and had a great balance of flavours. Highlights was the shrimp and egg, surprised that the combination really worked well together.
Would highly recommend it as a cannot miss place when visiting.

Don't know if I hit an unlucky day, but a combination of thick, rustic, and semi-dry rye bread, mixed with plastic cutlery, makes the smørrebrød feel like a challenge. I had to stop halfway as it was actually a bit embarrassing to sit alone and filet the rye bread.
Taste of chicken meat, great.
Egg-shrimp food, I could have made myself. Without being sure, I slightly suspect it was bucket eggs.
Guess I'll find another place next time.

If you're looking for incredibly tasty and authentic smørrebrod, you've come to the right place! 🔥
However, it has to be said that we paid the equivalent of €70 for 5 loaves of bread and two waters! Anyone who is not in Denmark for the first time knows that everything is generally a bit more expensive here. 🙏

The Smørrebrød is really tasty!! It’s a bit pricey, but it is still worth trying! I recommend trying the salmon smørrebrød!

What a place to get some authentic smørrebrød. There’s a wide variety of choices and it’s fantastic to see people making the sandwiches in front of you while you eat.
Limited seating options. There is bar stool seating around the back and sides.

The best place for an open sandwich on Copenhagen.
Either go early or after 2 pm to get a seat.
Down fall is the seating area.
