25/10/2026: Very expensive, nothing special, beautiful surroundings
First of all, I want to say that Denmark is super expensive. The energy and water bill in particular was absurdly expensive for 7 days.
So turn off the underfloor heating upon arrival and don't turn the radiator up high.
The cottage was basic but generally tidy. There is a lot of old junk though; there is plenty of cutlery and plates. You can't get it dark enough to sleep well.
- Old oven, where the handle gets glowing hot.
- Hard beds; I had a lot of back problems because of this.
- One of our wristbands didn't work to use the lockers at the pool, for example.
- You are required to put a cover-up swimsuit on children under 4 years old while swimming. But these easily cost 20 euros at the park.
- There are very few separate changing cubicles for both men and women. This is unpleasant because you have almost no privacy. Especially when it is busy, you don't even have a place to change.
- Very cold water in the swimming pool.
- The internet in the cottage was very poor.
- The swimming pool and the arcade close quite early, at 19:00 and 20:00.
Denmark is very beautiful, certainly nice to have seen once. But for us, it will remain a one-time visit.
The costs are simply too high, and that is not why you book a cottage at Landal. Also, there wasn't a huge amount to do in the autumn, especially with a 2-year-old.
I would really like to see more of Scandinavia, but that will require saving up for a while.
24/10/2026: We were a bit worried about our stay beforehand due to the bad reviews, but fortunately, we had a positive experience. Our holiday home was simple but very clean. It was nice that there were blackout curtains as well. The staff is friendly, and our children enjoyed the facilities such as the indoor playground, sports hall, etc. The swimming pool is a bit outdated, but very nice with all the slides, toys like rafts and balls, and a wave pool. There is also a nice toddler pool with a small slide. Legoland/House is an hour's drive away, but there are also many other fun things to do and see in the area. The beaches near the park are beautiful!
