New Nordic sublime with flavors of Bornholm. Harmonious dishes and perfect wines. Charming setting in Christianshavn – reservations are essential!

Visited in Nov 2025 Kadeau had been on my list of restaurants to visit for a long time, and I got lucky with a lunch reservation during my recent trip to CPH. In this trip, which included visits to Noma, Koan, and Kadeau, I must say that Kadeau was the best dining experience of the three. For entering the restaurant, you’ll have to ring the bell at the side of the black entrance door. Before being taken to my seat I was given a short tour of the kitchen and the restaurant which I thought to be a nice gesture. The tasting menu comprises 17-18 courses (including the amuse bouche courses). The entire menu is so well thought out in terms of ingredients, variation of flavour profiles and the progression of the dishes from start to finish. Among the starter courses, my favourite was the prawns with figs. Among the mains, my favourite courses were the salmon and the langoustine. For drinks, I went with the non-alcoholic pairing. There were 7 beverages in total through the duration of the meal, which in my view was the perfect number of drinks. All the beverages were quite decent and I think I made a good choice to go with the non-alcoholic pairing. Service was fantastic. The staff constantly attend to you throughout the meal with any requests you may have. The folks were so kind, polite and jovial. The restaurant also catered to a particular allergy I had (which I had informed them about while making the reservation). Overall, this is a brilliant fine-dining establishment and my experience here was equivalent to any three star place in the world. So I hope they get their 3rd star soon.

We have had the privilege of experiencing several three-Michelin-starred establishments, and your restaurant certainly lives up to that level of excellence. The dishes were remarkable, exceptionally refined and precise. The entire team generously shares their passion for their craft, making the experience even more memorable. The wine pairings were also of very high quality. Once again, a huge thank you to Alberto SEGADE MENENDEZ and the entire team for this unforgettable evening.

From beginning to end, this was a 10/10 experience. We went for our friend’s 40th birthday, and Chef Kyumin and his team made the evening truly special. Each dish was meticulously delicious and inventive, and the champagne and wine pairings were perfect with each dish! It was my first time in Copenhagen, and the menu felt like a beautiful reflection of local ingredients, and a wonderful introduction / history lesson to the city/country. I also love that they collaborate with local artists for the curated art and sculptures in the space! The service was also exceptional - friendly, approachable, knowledgeable, and always 1 step ahead of us! We’re excited to go back to try their Spring menu!

One of my favorite restaurants on the entire planet, and still firmly entrenched in my Top Five. They create a serene and flawless experience. Every dish is thoughtful and unique, with no fillers. Lovely people working both front and back. I will hopefully be back this summer to either this location or its sister in Bornholm.

Choosing Kadeau as the final stop of my Copenhagen trip felt natural — it’s a name that keeps coming up in local recommendations, especially among friends who love Nordic cuisine. Born on a small island with limited produce, the restaurant developed a language of preservation: dried, fermented, cured, salted. Every dish carries a quiet narrative of “time” — how flavour deepens, concentrates, transforms. Service is attentive for the most part, though the tea ritual was oddly inconsistent: 20 minutes to refill a tiny cup, and never following through beyond the first pour. At that point, placing the pot on the table might have been kinder. Tomatoes ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sun-dried or dehydrated to intensify the natural sweetness — almost like tomato paste — magnifying both acidity and fruitiness. Razor Clam ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Layered textures with a crisp–springy bite; rounded by warm butter aromatics. Scallop ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tart–sweet profile accented with ants; a contrast of crunch and soft sweetness that opens beautifully on the palate. Brown Crab ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The briny richness of crab and caviar lifted by almond aroma and pickled acidity — refined and well-balanced. Oyster ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A plump oyster paired with vegetable sauce and a thick, deeply savoury cheese emulsion — luxurious and aromatic. Raw Shrimps ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautiful natural sweetness; shellfish is crisp and sweet, while fresh walnut adds a clever finishing note. Ham Tart ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Vegetables seem partially dehydrated; the ham’s savoury depth pairs well with their concentrated sweetness. Salsify & Salted Leaves ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Shiso dominates; the root vegetable at the center is pleasant but subtle in flavour. Smoked Salmon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rich, silky flesh with crisp edges; pronounced smoke; sweet onions and pickled tomatoes brighten the richness. Deer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Warm, juicy and tender — both the tongue and meat — with crisp mushrooms adding texture. Mushrooms ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A full bowl of mushrooms in a chicken-based broth; deeply savoury, almost comforting. Pork ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Some bites lean slightly firm, but the contrast of cuts is interesting. Crispy fat, tender meat and lightly pickled vegetables create a lively balance. Mulberry Soup ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Berry acidity meets pine-like aromatics — an immediate evocation of Nordic forests and cold air. Mussel Ice Cream ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Chilled, creamy, with a subtle marine savouriness from mussel powder; dairy sweetness comes through strongly. Walnut Pie ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fragrant and generous, blending fresh and roasted walnuts with walnut leaves — layered, sweet, and deeply aromatic. Total: 3585 DKK Recommendation score: 8.7/10

A poetic expression of New Nordic cuisine. Every dish feels like nature translated through art. The team radiates quiet confidence — a soulful experience from start to finish. This restaurant expresses Nordic nature like poetry. The delicate voice of the ingredients resonates, resulting in dishes that are like art. The unassuming and warm service of the staff is also impressive.

Kadeau was our first stop upon arrival in Copenhagen and hugely anticipated. Our plane was delayed- we fretted about missing our reservation. Kadeau was the epitome of hospitality taking us straight from the airport, luggage and all, almost 2 hours late. What unfolded over the next few hours was a journey of tastes, smells, beautiful wines and relaxed but personable service. Watching the kitchen staff create edible masterpieces alone was worth the price of admission. Was it expensive? Yes. Was it worth it? You bet!! If you are fortunate enough to be in the most wonderful city of copenhagen save your $$$ and make a reservation!
