Here, history and nature meet in perfect harmony. With a view of the majestic Hammershu castle ruins, the sea on the horizon and dramatic rocky landscapes around you, you can hardly help but feel small - and very lucky. The area offers impressive nature, where the eye constantly catches new details – whether it's the rushing coastline, the green rock formations or the ruin itself, which towers up and tells its very own story. The bridge building itself is modern and aesthetically beautifully built into the landscape, and inside the building you will find a cozy café with both indoor and outdoor seating. It's the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee or a light lunch while soaking up the surroundings. The parking close to Hammershus costs a small amount, but if you are up for a short walk, there is the possibility to park for free around Lake Opalsøen. The trip from there to Hammershus is not long - but it is, on the other hand, full of nature experiences and is ideal for hiking nature lovers who want to enjoy the landscape at a slightly slower pace. All in all, an experience that combines culture, history, nature and tranquility - and which can be highly recommended.
