Nice, small Cafe, with charmingly quirky 'grandma' decor. Coffee, Soda, Cakes and sandwiches. Service is perfectly fine, the coffee, sandwiches & cakes are decent quality, and it's a good place to stop for a refreshment, on your walk between Marmorkirken and Kongens Nytorv.

Stepping into Mormors felt like stepping straight into my grandmother’s home—a space wrapped in warmth, nostalgia, and comfort. From the cozy, memory-soaked decor to the quiet hum of locals enjoying their morning rituals, everything about this little gem in Copenhagen whispered authenticity. The smoked salmon sandwich was nothing short of a culinary revelation. Perfectly balanced, delicately layered, and presented with a kind of care that’s rarely found outside of a family kitchen—it’s a taste I’ll carry with me for a long time. And the pastries? Each one felt like a doorway into a new, undiscovered world of sweetness. Buttery, flaky, and unforgettable. Even the bathroom—yes, the bathroom—was part of the charm, like stepping into a storybook chapter from another time. The staff were as warm and inviting as the space itself, adding to what became the most soul-nourishing start to our Scandinavian adventure. While many hotels offer breakfast with your stay, I would urge anyone to skip it at least once or eat light and plan for a late brunch at Mormors. It’s not just a meal—it’s a memory waiting to be made. Don’t miss this little spot. It’s more than worth the detour—it’s a small slice of Denmark’s heart.

Very quaint, quirky atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food and drinks. (Sandwiches, muffins, scones, etc.) We've been there twice in just under two years and were impressed each time. Definitely a must-try.

Lunch sandwiches were ordered at Mormors, one with chicken and the other with salmon. They were very generous and very good, but the price is still high for simple sandwiches. The restaurant's decor is unusual and gives the bakery a soul. However, the layout could use some updating; it's difficult to move around, and there are very few seats.
