What an amazing evening. We chose the nine course menu, which follows a kind of social dining principle, where several courses are put in the middle of the table and you share. Ranging from creative little delicacies to honest local staples, the food is very satisfying and tasty. (Although there could have been a few more vegetarian courses for my taste.) There were two surprise dishes, bringing the total number of courses to 11! And the craziest thing: on Fridays and Saturdays, the menu includes all you can drink wine, beer, sodas, water, coffee, tea.. Basically any drink you can imagine including alcohol-free wine. You serve yourself from a bar or ask the very friendly staff for the drink. The location is modern but in a traditional building. You get vibes of the old Odense. We can wholeheartedly recommend!!

Super 9 course really good value - the best 2 waitresses, top professional and lovely smiles.
Last star is only missing because the main courses could not match the starters and dessert

New update review
We recently went back to Oluf Bagers Gaard, and I’m happy to report that it’s still absolutely top-notch! If you’re visiting Odense, this place is a must-visit
Old review below
Love the old & new vibes in this old 1772 rustic stable restaurant.
We had the 9 course set menu which was a great social experience pair from champagne, white & red wine.
The food was good & I especially love the main which the beef & chicken cooked perfectly 👍
The service was friendly and the guy who explained the menu in English for me was superb & appreciated. 😊
I definitely recommended this place for a perfect place to catch up with friends, family & love one.
Here are some photos I took
A beautifully curated 9-course dining experience, combining traditional flavours with a thoughtful modern twist. Each dish was carefully presented and full of character, showcasing both creativity and respect for classic cooking.
The restaurant also offers its own label wines, which added a lovely personal touch to the experience. Of the two sampled, the white wine was particularly enjoyable and stood out more than the red, pairing beautifully with several of the courses.
The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the menu, which elevated the entire evening. Combined with great company, elegant décor, and charming surroundings, the atmosphere felt warm, relaxed, and memorable.
Although the location is slightly awkward to reach, arriving at the property makes the journey worthwhile. The building itself is wonderfully quaint and full of historic character, adding to the charm of the experience.
A lovely restaurant offering refined food, welcoming hospitality, and a unique setting that feels both timeless and contemporary. @remnantsrita

Found this little gem, just around the corner from H.C. Andersen House.
They had classic "shooting star" (stjerneskud) on the menu, and that I had to test.
The meal contained fried bread, cold smoked Salmon, fried Plaice, steamed Haddock, shrimps, the right amount of sauce, Asparagus, and some Dill and other greens.
And it was delicious!
I highly recommend it, and the hostess was very helpfull with answering questions, and recommending drinks.
