I rarely write reviews for restaurants but needed to get this off my chest: this was the best meal I’ve had so far after a month of traveling around western Europe (Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Amsterdam). Maybe I’m biased because I had a rather disappointing 9 course fine dining experience the night before and this 8 course menu for 1/3 of the price and twice the amount of food just blew me away by comparison. It’s not even that the food was groundbreaking per se, but each dish had at least one interesting/unique component and was just so flavorful and well executed with a good variance of textures. Simply delicious and beautifully presented without being pretentious. I loved that they brought it out in 2 phases of 3 dishes then 2 desserts (I love eating multiple things at once and moving back and forth through various dishes). I’d say the yellow beets, monkfish, pork neck, cucumber sorbet and milk ice cream with black currants were standouts to me so if you don’t do the 8 courses at least consider these a la carte. Vibes were immaculate too, there was jazzy old school sounding rap playing and the place was clearly a favorite of locals, chefs were laidback and having fun with each other and the waitresses. I wish I lived here and could try every new menu these guys put out, definitely feels like a hidden local gem. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and if you’re not, it’s worth the trip for a cozy, vibrant meal for damn good value.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Omar. We had the 8 sharing plate menu (I believe this is all that’s available in the evenings). They served us 6 savoury plates, 2 desserts, and some bread and butter. Everything was really tasty and it was plenty of good food.

Did not believe it is possible to find relatively cheap beer within CPH. Additionally cozy atmosphere and nice people. Should we ask for more?

Food was unlike anything I’ve ever tried - a unique mix of cuisines that was super delicious! Our favs were the stracciatella, padrons in cheese, and cucumber sorbet. Would definitely come back!

I visited for lunch! If you choose from 4 or 6 types, a menu will appear. It was nice to go early for lunch so there weren't a lot of people and it was relaxing. The atmosphere is great, the music is great, and the staff are friendly! I didn't like the slight smell of cigarette smoke wafting in from outside the open door at the end of the meal. Bread, stracciatella, and fish dishes came out first, but the bread was so-so, and the stracciatella and fish dishes (black sesame sauce? Mackerel? Vegetables like cucumber, redcurrant, and shiso) were really, really delicious. I got mushroom toast with artichoke tomatoes, and it went well with the mushroom toast and onion sauce, and it was also really delicious. It was nice to have 2 plates of dessert, especially the cucumber sorbet chili sauce combination, which was so new and delicious!! Although the location is not downtown, it would be nice to experience it at least once. I recommend it!

Delicious menu and lovely service. That's all you need. You pay a reasonable price here for Copenhagen, a real winner 😋

The food is quite good but we were 4 and decided for the 8 courses menu, receiving small portions, the same number of plates and quantities prepared for tables of 3, probably 2 guests. Not deserving the price we spent

Not so many restaurants open on Sunday in Copenhagen 🇩🇰, but Restaurant Omar does. We had been recommended the place by another restaurant's chef, and the recommendation proved right. Restaurant Omar provides an interesting culinary experience. The 8-course menu is well balanced in terms of savours and dish size. We enjoyed all the dishes without identifying any major weak point along the tasting. Although the place is located in an area outside the city centre, access by public transportation is easy. I highly recommend Restaurant Omar and would be delighted to return.
