Restaurant De 2 Have Frederikshavn

We had a wonderful experience at Restaurant De 2 Have on a summer afternoon. We arrived around 4 pm. The restaurant was closed at that time, but the kitchen at the bar next door was open and serving food, so we decided to stop there — and we are so glad we did. The location is absolutely beautiful. The bar has three different areas: an indoor space, a covered terrace and an outdoor terrace. It was a sunny but windy day, so we chose the covered terrace. We ate really well: fish & chips, an excellent fish burger, nachos with cheese, guacamole, spicy sauce and yogurt sauce, and the traditional Danish sildemad, made with rye bread (rugbrød) and herring, accompanied by ingredients such as onion, capers, egg and sauces. And plenty of fries! We don't eat garlic and we also needed lactose-free options, so we asked if some of the dishes could be adapted. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful and found all the solutions we needed. We really appreciated their attention and willingness to help. There was soft music playing in the background and a sense of peace that is sometimes difficult to find. Maybe because of the time of day, there were only a few people around, which made the atmosphere even more relaxing. After a long walk on the beach, it felt like the perfect place to slow down and enjoy a little time for ourselves. A beautiful place, great food and genuinely kind service. Highly recommended, and thank you for such a lovely experience!

Unbeatable view, of course, and excellent food. Perfect service. Prices are a bit high, but you get the setting. Not far off Danish standards.

Everything was fantastic! There were four of us, including a large dog, and we all ordered seafood dishes: to say it was all incredibly fresh is an understatement! Perfect and impeccable service, a dream setting with a beautiful view. The price is absolutely right for the quality of the dishes and the location. I loved everything, and if we have the chance, we'll definitely be back! ❤️

We ate in the café. We got 2 x shrimp appetizers, 1 fish & chips and 1 children's menu with fish fillet. The children's menu cost 20 kr. more and the white wine cost 40 kr. more than stated on the menu. We were not offered ice water, despite buying a bottle of white wine for 385 kr. The food tasted fine - but price and quality do not quite match here. The view is fantastic - and you pay for it there. Poor selection of beer - in our opinion. You have to order at the bar and pay immediately. That's also perfectly fine, but when paying the system asks for a tip - which surprises me, since at that time we had received neither food nor service.

Lovely place, BUT we ordered fish&chips and got a basket of chips with 3 mini pieces of not even 5cm x 5cm of fish, the taste was really good, but you could hardly see the fish, that was a pity, really! The children fish fillet plate had more fish in it that the fish&chips, shame. :(

Nice restaurant with a view of the harbor

I was annoyed. We ate cake and had a drink, which was perfectly fine. Looking back, I feel like I was dealing with professional rip-off artists. There's the 5/10/15% charge at the payment terminal. With all the other fees, you end up paying almost 7 euros for a small piece of cake. And that's for self-service.

The place is absolutely amazing. The setting IS divine where two seas meet. It would have been easy to run this as a tourist trap, but it is anything but. The food has that little something extra. The service is excellent. Didn't drink wine but the wine list looked exciting. Recommended!
