Restaurant Koan

Extremely impressive menu and exciting tastes. If you enjoy a world class gourmet experience, this restaurant is highly recommended.

Our experience at Koan was truly exceptional from both a food and flavor perspective. We loved how the menu blended Korean influences with exceptional local seafood, creating dishes that felt unique while still being incredibly cohesive. I’ll never forget the lobster noodle, tofu and caviar, and bread courses; they were some of the standout dishes in my opinion. One thing that felt particularly distinctive compared with other restaurants we’ve experienced at this level was the use of spice and heat in a few dishes. That’s something I’ve found to be relatively rare in fine dining, and it was a refreshing departure from tradition that added another layer of excitement to the meal. The atmosphere was also stunning, and our table had a decent view of the kitchen, which allowed us to observe the coordination that goes into executing an evening in a high end restaurant. Koan will remain one of the highlights of our time in Copenhagen, and I hope to visit some of the chef’s other restaurant recommendations on future trips.

The best meal of my life. Elevated Korean inspired dishes with Nordic ingredients without being pretentious. Everything was a hit The langoustine with gochujang sauce, the rice with banchan dish, the caviar tofu, the ice cream with oil, etc were all amazing.

One of the best dining experiences we've had. The food and service was excellent. The shrimp, oyster, and acorn were fantastic. The donut with the butter, honey, and ginsing was maybe my favorite bite. It was filling and lots of courses. The only downside was the price it was just a little more pricey compared to other restaurants of similar quality in Europe and the US.

Korean fine dining at its best! Two Michelin stars are well deserved. Their 17-course menu is a journey through Korea with a Nordic twist. Beautiful presentation and exceptional taste. The wine list is impressive. The service is impeccable. An experience you won't soon forget.

Such a special experience. Great environment for good conversation and watching the chefs work. Staff did an excellent job explaining the food, some techniques, origins of the dishes, and the cultural influences from Korea. Everyone was so attentive and friendly. Hard to describe how good the meal was so if you are able to go, it should be worth it.

Absolutely beautiful meal. Every single dish was delicious. The service was stellar. The vibes were great - upscale yet intimate, never too formal. Loved that they made interesting Korean spirit based cocktails off menu. Knocked one star bc there was not a single meat dish and this wasn’t advertised. At this price, going straight from (wonderful) seafood to (wonderful) desserts is a big miss to me and was quite disappointing. Still highly recommended, but this felt odd!
