This is exactly what you hope for when visiting a world class restaurant.
KOAN delivers on every expectation its reputation creates. The food constantly surprises through flavor, texture, and thoughtful combinations. And the drinks Korean sool pairing is simply outstanding. Forget the wine pairing; this is the experience to have.
For me, KOAN fully deserves its two Michelin stars. In fact, I would gladly steal the third star that was awarded elsewhere in 2026 to a Kadeau restaurant that, in my opinion, falls far behind what is happening here.
A few details made the experience even more memorable…
The solo dining table is shared and round, naturally encouraging interaction between strangers from around the world.
The chairs are comfortable, the staff is warm, attentive, and completely free of pretension. The dessert closes the evening perfectly.
But what impressed me most was the hospitality. The chef was present in the restaurant, welcoming guests and visiting tables throughout the evening. At one point, after returning from the restroom, it was the chef himself who pulled out my chair and helped me back to the table while the rest of the team was busy. Small gesture, big statement.
That says everything about the culture of a restaurant.
Go alone. Go with your partner. Go with friends.
Just go.

One is of best dining experiences in awhile!!
To start off, VERY VERY professional service. Maybe one of the best one yet. The chef and all the staffs are very attentive in every step.
For few times, the chef himself came to serve courses and explained all the food by himself
The deco of the res is very aesthetic with an open kitchen. You can see the chef and all the staffs are working.
For the food presentation, beautiful yet VERY delicated and detailed especially the rice dish.
Food temperature is on point as well even the dessert. For the taste, I like it a lot. Flavorful dishes. Highlight dishes are tofu cavair, langoustine, oyster, and rice course
If you are visiting copenhagen, def give this res a try. TOTALLY worth it
KOAN is a fantastic restaurant. The extraordinary blend of Korean and Danish influences makes for an extraordinary meal. And watching the incredibly well orchestrated team work, in a space that is elegant but conducive to a performative ambiance where every detail has been thought through, is really quite something. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously. They are a proud, hard working team achievubg a level of excellence that inspires. Good for them.

Unforgettable experience! A lot of genuinely incredible dishes finding a fine balance between delicate, bold and complex. Execution and service also a big plus, as is the chef’s presence and attitude. Definitely among my most memorable meals ever.

Excellent service, a very cool location, and a great overall ambiance. The meal started strong—we were genuinely excited by the first few courses—but after the fifth or sixth, the experience lost a bit of its luster. That said, we were dealing with significant jet lag, which may have affected how we experienced the latter part of the meal.
We opted for the full pairing, and while everything was thoughtfully presented, at this price point, we expected every dish to truly shine. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
It’s an undeniably expensive experience, and we had hoped to leave feeling completely wowed. Instead, it fell slightly short of that expectation.

My husband and I both love Korean food, and we’ve been to every well-known Michelin-starred restaurant in Seoul—but I have to say, Koan is on a different level. The combination of excellent Danish produce and heavy Korean umami seasoning was absolutely mind-blowing. Every single dish was not only aesthetically pleasing but incredibly flavorful.
We both love meat, especially Hanwoo beef! While most Korean fine-dining restaurants serve Hanwoo as a main course, we still think Koan’s mains are the best we’ve ever had. The chilled lobster noodles, the langoustine, the sundae, and the two rice dishes were spectacular. We initially thought the lobster noodles would be the highlight, but every single dish that followed was just as good.
I also have to mention the bread service: the kkwabaegi was so light and fluffy. I’ve had many of these Korean doughnuts in Seoul, but Koan’s version is hard to beat. To top it off, the oolong tea soufflé with roasted seaweed ice cream was divine. I was disappointed to miss out on soufflés during our time in Paris, but this combination was honestly better than any I’ve tried in France.
We both agree that if Koan were in Seoul, it would easily have three Michelin stars. I don’t normally write such long reviews, but this meal was nourishing for both my body and my soul. Thank you, Chef! Will be back in Copenhagen and Koan soon

This was the best meal of my life I’ve been very privileged to eat over 15 Machine staff meals in the last three months and I can say that this is singly. The best I’ve ever had the balance of flavours and tastes coupled with the passion and sincerity of the food that was created whilst 2nd to none. I am humble by the opportunity to have eaten here and I know now that the system is flooded. This is easily a three star for restaurant. Top 50 without a doubt

“Wonderful people who create happiness”
A place filled with comfort and warmth.
The food was wonderful, and even the time spent there was happy and precious.
A very special experience, if you want a wonderful evening, then KOAN is a great choice. The food, service and atmosphere are first class. Expensive YES, but it is a full evening's performance and worth it.
