Restaurant Krabben, menu Vallensbæk

The assessment of the atmosphere is perhaps a bit unfair, due to the fact that we were at Krabben on a Monday, but that did not change the actual dining experience. We both got 2 starters: Cauliflower - cauliflower cream - capers - hazelnuts - Vesterhavs cheese, and Tartar of beef thigh - almond crunch - chili mayo - Vesterhavs cheese - cress. The cauliflower was really good, but the crispy capers ruined quite a lot of what a caper can do; namely adding a little acid and salt. They tasted like lightly salted root vegetable chips after that treatment. The tartar was unfortunately the worst I have ever had. Really bland and bland, and unfortunately they have chosen to make a completely different tartar on the evening menu than the one they serve for lunch - because the one for lunch is actually excellent. It lacked a lot of balance - a little mustard or capers / caper berries (which are not roasted to death) to break up the somewhat overwhelming taste experience that raw beef and cress give would have done wonders. Furthermore, the chili mayo tasted neither of chili nor of real mayo, but instead had a strange aftertaste of the bitterness from sea buckthorn. P.S. The waiter was really sweet, smiling, welcoming and understanding, and it's a shame that the food can't live up to her level.

nice and cozy place, nice view, with nice and attentive waiters. got open sandwiches, nice open sandwiches I lacked some flavor maybe especially for the price, I expected more, but or completely okay, we were there for an hour, and enjoyed ourselves in the beautiful premises.
