Restaurant La Mar Lemvig

Nice food, especially their lobster soup. Not so cozy place and very noisy when there are other guests.

Fantastic dining experience, definitely worth a visit. My reason for the 4 stars for the atmosphere is that it lacks some coziness, the room is a bit too big for everyday use. Movable screens could be an idea.

Super good lobster soup and a good fish plate

A real pearl we discovered during our Denmark roundtrip. The first clear 5 star restaurant so far (Kopenhagen ahead of us). Wide offer on fish and meat dishes but for sure on an elevated price level. Nevertheless the quality of the food was extraordinary. Each dish of the fish plate was unique, it was not just a simple combination of fishes but each one was special recipe. Steamed fish with leek topping, on skin grilled cod, stone biter with a tomato crust, fried fish (catfish?), a stuffed plaice roll and perfectly grilled langoustines (which outperformed each we tried in Skagen due to it‘s perfect level of salt and the grilled seafood taste).

They did it again. Fish platter with side dishes, absolutely perfect, good wine, about half the price compared to restaurants in Aarhus. Nice service in a room where there is room to enjoy the good company you are in. August 7, 2026 we were there again. Everything as usual. Fantastic fish, perfectly prepared. Plenty of side dishes and friendly service. 🌹👍😃

We had lobster soup and fried hake plus a fish plate, it was all super delicious and there was plenty so you didn't leave hungry Highly recommend it

The fish menu is super delicious. It's worth the money.

Our nearly 3-week tour of Denmark – Tønder, Ribe, Skagen, Aalborg, Aarhus, Odense, Copenhagen, Falter. And the winner – even compared to upscale restaurants – is "La Mar" in Thyborøn 🥂. Unusual ambiance, absolutely fantastic cuisine.

Special atmosphere fits the area really well. Good food, well done craftsmanship by the kitchen.
